All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

hi Anthony,
I recalled from past posts that SCGS does not accept PV for registration purposes. You may want to try the grassroots way to get into 2B. But of course, no harm calling up the school to ask. -
Hi Anthony, hquek is right. See this thread: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3232&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Hi
i hv been informed by school that they are conducting interviews before confirming PV. Any one could share what do they usually ask during the interviews… Tks much -

If you do a search, you should be able to find the link to a sample list. Alternatively, go to the main page of KiasuParents (not the forum) and search for the Article that has the information you want.Hi

Went to SCGSPS last week. School is now accepting parent volunteers although blatantly mentioned that administration is \"very selective\" in accepting an application. Download PV form: http://www.scgs.edu.sg/downloads/forms/volunteerform.pdf

oh...i called up a few schools and they have actually closed their parent volunteer registration. i'm too slow!!
so now i can only depend on the Phase 2C registration. haiz...i'm praying that my son can get in through the balloting. And the school is just a more popular neighbourhood school at sembawang - Canberra Primary School. -

Hi jaslin_yap!
Do you also live within 1 km from Endeavour. This is also a good school, and a popular one, too, after Canberra. You may like to go through the Sembawang thread to find out more information on this school, as well as other schools in Sembawang. It is natural for parents to consider Canberra first if they stay in Sembawang, but do consider other schools, too, because for Canberra, balloting is required even for those staying within 1 km in Phase 2C.
Mods., please merge this and earlier post to Sembawang thread. Thx. -
Hi Parents…
Give Up Mummy reporting here…
Dun you tink is NOT fair that even you stay within 1KM you still required to ballot !!!
Then what is the point of Priority given for those staying one KM?
Can’t PV coz i need to work and look after TWO kids…no maid or any in laws to help???
I kind of give up on all these as i stay within 1KM of Pei Hwa and after reading all the balloting histories …Is all pure luck…U get it happy lah but IF NOT too bad lor then my kids would have to try LUCK again on the next nearby neighbourhood area…no luck again then go to the NOBODY WANTS Sch !!! Sure CAN… -
I wanted to apply to be a PV at a school just opposite where we live. However, I’ve heard that they won’t accept you as a PV unless your child is a student there alredy. What can I do then? _
(And yes, lims - it’s not fair…but life is like that isn’t it?) -
