MummySTay:
What a coincidence! Thats why both our surnames are tay!
Hahaha...your question is just like the one I asked in the RGPS thread. DD was also interested in Japanese, but she now has second thoughts. Scared she cannot cope.Ms tay:

Does ur DD intend to take 3rd language ? My DS is interested in Japanese should I encourage him ? I m quite worried that he wont be able to manage

For the Malay Special Programme, if we want to choose Malay as third language, do we pic the Malay Special Programme since they donβt have any other choices?
-
My boy got 269, can get into RI?

With that score, your DS can go anywhere!
:congrats: -
Hi my DD got 249+3, is she able to get into RV? If not what are the chances of her getting in via appeal?
-
Firstly Ms Tay - congrats to your son. He can now get into his dream school.
Ngbrdad - Your son has great results - and I have been told by an ex colleague that her son chose ACS(I) over RI and he is really enjoying himself there. I have yet to find out why - will let you know once I do.
All other parents congrats on fabulous results.
My son has come up with totally unexpectedly good results. We are suddenly faced with the happy problem of considering schools that were not even on our radar screen earlier.
Would anybody have any ideas on preference between SJI and VS? COP-wise he would qualify for both. We live in Hougang - neither school is close by.
Any definitely advantage of one over the other?
Thanks in advance. -
ngbrdad:
.
Didn't know they do that. Do you have to make realistic choices, or can you put down RI as a choice? What were your ds' choices?jtoh:
Interestingly the GE Branch requires everyone who has no CO to name your top 3 choices on the spot, the teacher will take down the choices, key in a laptop and submit to the GE branch.
Will that make any difference in getting your first choice ?
If you have no choices the teacher will suggest schools that they think you have a good chance.
Everyone is required to submit the 3 choices before they are allowed to go home.
We put ACSI, RVH and Catholic High.
On the S1 form it's stated that he is elligible for GE grant/EEEIS since he got promoted in the GE programme, despite his relatively low PSLE score.
So I guess if you opt for a school with SBGE and qualify you will continue to be in GE there.
If you put ACSI as your first choice you'll be able to get in for sure. Maybe not in the IB programme, but it may be possible given that your son was from GEP. Even if he doesn't get in this year, he can give it a shot at the end of Year 2.
I think you should appeal for NJC. If I remember correctly your son did rather well in HAST didn't he? No harm trying. Good luck! -

Can anyone advise if 265(excluding HMT) is a safe score for RGS?
Should be safe based on recent COPs.
