      MOE says that the PSLE scores are calculated down to many many decimal points so it's very unlikely for two students to have exactly the same score. So the student who's ranked ahead of the other student will get into School A even if he/she puts it as 6th choice over the other student who put it as first choice and scored 0.00000000000000001 less than the first student.

      r u sure dat is how d selection system works?
      I was under d impression dat d system selects in d following manner:
      1. All those who makes d cut with their first choice goes thro;
      2. Any balance vacancies r carried over to those putting dat school as second choice;
      3. And so forth down to d sixth choice if any vacancies r left.

      d system differentiates a child's preference n selection dat way; otherwise makes no sense to ask a child to list his/her preference in order.

      I'm very certain that's how the selection process works. Check the S1 Posting book that was given to all P6 students on how the posting exercise works. It very clearly describes that all students are ranked and the ones who are ranked higher get priority over students who are ranked lower. I also attended a talk by MOE who gave details on how the selection exercise works.[/quote]Ya, all students in S1 posting exercise are ranked to the 6th (or so) decimal places. Then they are allocated according to their choices indicated based on availabilty and COP. 😄

        Sorry Helping Hand, didnt know that you are the child. You think the COP will still be the same even when the school becomes a SAP sch?

        70% will go up because it is quite easy to get there to many people who lived there. Gotta go to Nan Chiau Open house since missed first one. 🙏

          Does ur DD intend to take 3rd language ? My DS is interested in Japanese should I encourage him ? I m quite worried that he wont be able to manage :roll:

          Hahaha...your question is just like the one I asked in the RGPS thread. DD was also interested in Japanese, but she now has second thoughts. Scared she cannot cope.

          DD is also interested in taking up 3rd language - French, but we are also having second thoughts......dunno if she can cope with the workload. 😓

            ACS Barker admits students via affiliation only. On the rare occasion it does take in non-affiliates.
            I know a few who got in without affiliation over past 2 years.

              Just wondering during the S1 posting excercise, can we still opt for NUSH?

              Thanks

                  Can anyone advise if 265(excluding HMT) is a safe score for RGS?

                  :congrats: chatterbox321. 265 should get you safely into RGS. 😂

How did your DD do? She's also going to RGS right? Bought uniform already?

                    As for 3rd lang, luckily still got a few more days to mull over, but I think DH and I will respect DD's decision, whatever it may be. 😄

                      Firefly reporting… late… (again)! Have been trying to log on to KSP yesterday afternoon but just couldn’t get access to it! Finally, managed to browse through & read the posts (not all pages, though) past midnight, but still couldn’t log in to post comments. Tried again this morning and… Bingo!!!

                      Congratulations to Funx3, Leanne, Tinkerbelle, MummyStay, Ms Tay (especially) & all KSP parents, whose children have done well in their PSLE! Wonder how vlim, Brenda, Panda Pen, Lang Mum & a few others are doing?

                      My DS got 26X, 4 A Stars, with Merit in Higher Chinese… Not bad for a child with no tuition, except for English, which started only in P6! DS wil be joining RI next year (DSA). Hope to ‘meet’ Ms Tay, Leanne, vlim , Paddy Field, at RI (thread) next year! Cheers!!!

                        NUSH does not participate in S1 posting exercise. You need to appeal to the school leh. 😄
