Dear parents,
Chatsworth Kindergarten will be having an Open House on 24th September 2011 (Saturday) from 10 am to 2 pm.
1. School fees as follows:
Pre-K and K1 (3-hrs) = SGD 1,937.50 per term
K2 (4-hrs) = SGD 2,375 per term (before GST).
2. Class size :
Pre-K = 1:8
K1 = 1:9
K2 = 1:13
(generally the morning class size is large/almost to capacity and the afternoon class size is much smaller with 2 teachers)
3. Timings:
Morning = 8.30 am to 11.30 am
Afternoon = 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm
Also, got school bus to AMK.
This is a locally registered kindergarten under the MOE although it is part of the International School. I find the programme very interesting and suitable for boys especially because of the many hands-on and outdoor activities. The school also organizes a number of outings as well as celebrations during the major festivals including National Day.
Next year 2012 Pre-K will be for those babies born in 2008.

They have moved to a bigger building at the entrance of Seletar Camp and are now located at 1-4 Piccadilly Circus, Singapore 797640.
From 2012 onwards, they are starting a pre-nursery class for children age 2 to 3. Siblings of past and current students are given priority in admissions. Registration fee of $321 (inc. GST) is fully waived for all registrations on that day. Vacancies are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Dear postpet,any parents at chatsworth picadilly circus for pre-nursery or nursery?
Any comments on their curriculum as compared to other kindys?
You may wish to check-up their website and look under \"Newsletters\" to take a look at the activities written there. Chatsworth will plan many different kinds of interesting and learning activities for the children to do. It also has a lot of outings, excursions and celebrates the major festivals of Singapore. It has a lot of outdoor play ie. about 45 mins. each day and the kindy is blessed with a very nice compound at Picadilly Circus, the plants and landscaping are very well kept!
However for Chinese language, it is not \"bilingual immersion\" though. For Nursery it is twice a week of Chinese lessons. For K1 it is 3 times a week and for K2 it is everyday to prep. for P1. We were advised that if we intend our kid to take Chinese as a 2nd language we would need to seek outside tuition since the exposure at the kindy is not enough. Other than this situation which may not be ideal if you are looking for \"bilingual immersion\", I think the kindy is great! -
thanks! how about English language and basic math?
Did you find that your child is well prep for Pri 1 other than chinese language? -

Sorry, my kid is still in pre-school hence got no personal experience to share with you. For English, what I know is they have a \"reader\" scheme from Pre-K onwards. Pre-K every week will bring back one story book for parents to read to the kid. From K1 onwards, there will be graded books for the kids to bring back to read themselves. According to each kids' ability, the graded books will be used accordingly. Parents will need to participate as well to ensure the kids can read and spell. Kindy will also organise talk on \"Prep for P1\" for the parents to attend when in K1/K2 and visit to a primary school. Maths I am not too sure.
For me, there are other things to look out for in a kindy other than academic preparation for P1 hence I am quite happy with this kindy.
If you are really interested should contact the kindy and go discuss with the principal and take a look at their workbooks.
All the best!
