DS has a teacher for each subject, and one of his teachers told me that during the PTM. I'm trying to decide if I should let the P know.......
Same here, for teaching, they have separate subject teachers. DD's chinese teacher part times as tuition teacher so she says she has everything covered for them for P1 so dont need enrichment.

Same thing for english and maths.... they even told me if I am worried, I shouldn't be and not paid extra outside...

Hmm, maybe you can ask other parents if they had the same comment?

If DD1's primary teacher ask me to send her for tuition, I will have a tea session with the P.

:hi5: , defeats the purpose if need to go tuition to improve... this isn't some top sch I hope.. hear too many stories about them that I hope it isn't true..

Not to frighten you, preparation for PSLE work starts in P5. Science is taught from P3, and in PSLE, it will be tested from P3 - P6.

I am braveheart ,not frightened at all :rotflmao: (joking :p)

I would say preparation starts P4.. i keep seeing parents at the maths place, talking about how their kids start performing badly when they starts P4 and keeps pressuring the tuition teachers to give extra lessons... :scared:

Since you are braveheart, I feel the preparation starts at P3. Here's my rationale, P1 is bridging, P2 is foundation for primary level, P3 starts building liao. So I feel should start at P3.

For maths, P4 is the foundation for P5 and P6, so if at P4, the foundation is not solid, the child will face problems in P5 and P6.

I do agree it starts at P3.. though getting into assessment routine or the habit can start at K1 or K2...not piles of assessment but the hang of it..

Do they get streamed at P3? or P4?...

Depend on schools. My school only have class diifereniation at P5, meaning they stream based on P4 results. But I know that there are schools that stream based on P2 results. So at P3, there will
be top, normal and average classes. Subsequently the child's class might still change based on child's year end results.

Errrr, many schools also offer that leh.

SAP just means the focus is on the Chinese heritage and culture. My school is very normal one.

I am totally clueless for DD's sch, need to catch up on that and know when it starts.
