Was she offered French/German/Japanese? Only those in top 10% are offered those three languages. Malay/Chinese/Arabic are open to all.2nd step: Anyone with the score of 249 and given the choices of 3rd lang?
My girl obtained 248 and given choice of 3rd language. -

juz curious, what r the choices available for 248?KiasuMum1999:

Strictly going by the \"Choosing your Secondary School\" book, 248 is the min for Cedar Girls and 1 mark shy of CHIJ St Nicholas. Wonder if chances are even high to select these 2 schools.
Next schools, regardless of location, would be Anderson, Crescent Girls or Anglican ?
Any advice is appreciated. -

Oh, you are right... her Third Language is stated under Option 1 & 2 and not the French/German/Japanese...

I update d stats as follows:
1. Total 2011 P6 cohort = 45,261
2. EESIS COP = 260
3. Top 10% COP = 248 (tbc)
4. Intake size of each IP school?
dis means ~1,358 P6 attain T score of 260 or more,
leaving ~3,168 P6 in d T score range 248 - 260.
If top 5% P6 typically choose to go to RI, HCI, RGS, NYGH n some of them to ACSI n DHS,
there's approx 2,263 vacancies left in ACSI, DHS n d other remaining IP schools.
one can get a better feel of one's chances if u know d intake size n also take into account previous year COPs, n d estimated COP of d chosen school for dis year.
Hope dis helps.
above post is no longer valid
- top 10% COP is not 248.

My son has been offered EESIS since he obtained 262 and admitted into NUS High (IS) thru DSA.
MOE website said " The scholar must make good progress each year in order to continue receiving the scholarship." What does "make good progress each year" mean? How do I ensure he gets $2400/yr from Y2->Y6? -
Regarding EESIS for GEP, the students must op for IP in an independent school is it ?
Then why is SJI and MGS on the list of approved schools for EESIS during the GEP briefing ? -
jtoh:
If I am not wrong, only after the posting MOE will be able to know who qualified for EESIS. Top 1/3 IS students. At this stage, nobody knows how many will be in IS schools, right?Okay, confirmed. The EESIS COP this year is 260. I got it straight from MOE.
So these couple of years the EESIS COP has hovered around +/- 260, give or take a couple of points. If the top 10% is also 250 this year, then it seems to imply that MOE does a cut off at around 260 for top 3% and around 250 for top 10%.
In earlier years EESIS was higher though. -

To make use of EESIS, you must be enrolled in an independent school PLUS be in its SBGE programme. SJI and MGS are both independent schools with SBGE programmes.Regarding EESIS for GEP, the students must op for IP in an independent school is it ?

This question was already answered elsewhere. All students who qualify for EESIS have been informed together with their PSLE results. Whether you get to use your EESIS award is dependent on whether you opt to enrol in an independent school. If you don't, you don't get to use your EESIS award.
