errrmmmm .. this forum has no \"Like\" like in facebook? If have i will \"Like\" it. :goodpost:random 99, this is what I ask my students to do when they want to get into medical school and cannot for some reasons. Ask yourself these:
1. why do I want to go to RI?
2. what can I do in RI that I cannot do in another school?
3. what if I cannot get into RI?
Write 5 points down for each question. Then you will realize it really does not matter. Getting into RI is just a bonus. I know that. I spent 6 years as a Rafflesian, and my son is also from RI. It is not so big a deal after many years. HCI or ACSI or any school is the same, as long as you are a great person. Work on the latter.
Yes, me Rafflesian too ... no big deal ..... when you come out to work, no one really cares you are from RJC or some other JC or school. It's your character that matters most ... -

Why only GEPpers who should have this priority - just becos they are identified at P3 level? In this case, all parents should go drill their kids for GEP (afterall no need to worry about T-score or sec sch thereafter). Your same arguement of later maturity can be applied to mainstreamers as well.....so RI has to open more classes to cater to whole of Singapore kids??Big Octopus:
Why can't RI open up more classes and accept all GEPpers instead ? I know there are some with GEPpers with low T score, but that is not what they are look at in the first place rite ? Otherwise, no need to identify GEP rite ?
Boys generally mature later and these kids might be doing very well later on as they mature.
And why must it only be RI? Singapore has so many schools, and RI is not the only school who can groom your kid!
Come on, 别钻牛角尖. There are lots of good schools out there. Have you consider that your GEP kid may probably fare better in a different environment as compared with the competition he will face in RI???
And why GEP kids can get EESIS when they can't hit the EESIS cut off. Pls enlighten me on that. :siam: -
Why the 230-250 ones dont' have any scholarship one...

Agreed absolutely! And in this forum we are seeing kids (and parents) who can't let go \"not making it to that school\". That attitude realy puzzles me and I find it a really unhealthy trend!
The mindset of the kid is usually influenced by the adult, and the poor kid end up feeling not up to mark, blaming society for not giving them more chance to make it....etc.
Come on, one little setback in life, accept it, embrace it, move on! Whichever school you end up in, you are the one determining how you turn out, not the school! -

Haha! More like no need to have S1 Central Posting.2ppaamm:
Someone enlighten me. Why is everyone talking about appealing when they haven't even submitted their S1 Central Posting forms yet and the posting results are not out? Aren't appeals for when you don't get the school of your choice after posting? I can understand the situation for DSA students who didn't get any COs and now want to appeal. But why is everyone else talking about appealing?
Keke i am also wondering how come so strange this year. The only reason i can think of is that parents ate preparing to put in a school slightly off limit and then appeal later. the rate this is going, there may no longer be much room for appeal going forward.
All schools conduct their own admissions autonomously. Or better still, schools bid for the best students.
Haha! That would be a first! :lovesite:

Really! I really thought that it was based on priority! Meaning if my dd put SNGS as her first choice and she does not get in,she may not get into anderson because others choose it as their 1st choice? And do u think she will stand a chance w the different of 1 point?
It's always merit over choice. -
Hi, I would like to ask if it is safe to buy uniform from RGS with a score of 265 excluding HMT?

I'm quoting RI from the previous post that was discussing on RI. There are definitely many good schools out there.

What is the reason when there are only 500+ GEPpers and thousands of mainstreamers RI cater so many classes for GEP ? -
