2011 PSLE Discussions and Strategy
-
Hi!
My PSLE score is 264+2 and I’m considering ACSI IB or HCI. I’ve a couple of questions and I hope you can help me.
1. How is the learning environment (eg. stress level, teachers helpful…)
2. I have DSA into ACSI. If I decide to go HCI instead, what must I do?
3. I only have an A in Chinese. Will it be a problem coping with Chinese in HCI?
Thanks everyone. Hope your can help me make up my mind. -
Please advise! I have gotten 246 for PSLE with a merit in hmt, so my total score is 248. I’m a girl and live in Jurong West. Any recommended school?

[/quote]not to worry, you should get into RG. Not too sure about the exchange policy, so maybe don't rush to buy the uniform first?
Umm but then what is the exchange policy?(in case I can't get in because my mum doesn't want to waste money like buy already then never go RGS..)chatterbox321:

But my mum after reading all the kiasuparents buying uniform, then she also want to buy.. -
DS got 257+2, aiming hci. With this score, do we need to appeal? Really get lost. What is the correct procedure? Please advise! Thank-you!!!

Have you accepted any DSA offer? If not, you are eligible for S1 posting. Put HCI as your 1st choice if you want to go there. Unless you are rejected, then you need to go thru' the appeal process.
Currently, those submitting appeals are the ones with DSA offers at hand, and they find out they qualify for their preferred school and want to go there, so they submit appeal to their preferred school. -

HAST got different levels. Njc used middle secondary level not sure about ACSI. Heard stories that RI and VS used lots of similar questions for GAT. However RI allows 20 minutes for 60 questions but VS allocates 1 hour
I have administered the HAST at high school before, I found the questions totally fun and no skills are required. The timing is always sufficient and strict, and everyone should be able to finish. The ones who 'get it' get it immediately, those who cannot, cannot lor. We are supposed to find out the capabilities of a child through such tests, never about how fast they can write. HAST is not developed in Singapore, only Singaporeans develop tests to test how bad our kids are, others develop tests to test how GOOD the kids are.
well said......my dd no1 said moe out there to penalise marks whereby oversea markers out there to award marks.... -

Thanks Ms Tay
my dd only p4 this year, am not in a position to give any advice, hence only can be a silent reader. I hv gained lots from helpful n experienced parents here n really appreciate. I too understand that sometimes disagreements r inevitable, everybody is just here to share n learn from one another. :salute: especially to those parents whose kids r no more in primary but still willing to contribute their knowledge here, thanks all for the time n effort. :lovesite:
