Victoria vs SJI for Secondary

Hi, if this topic has been discussed earlier, then I would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.


If not, then can someone please enlighten me on the better choice? My son has got his PSLE results and is contemplating on choosing Victoria’s IP program or SJI. If I consider school proximity, then SJI scores higher. But on asking friends/colleagues, Victoria School scores higher. SJI is also coming out with their IP program in 2013 - and my son is keen to do IP.

Any feedback is very much appreciated!!!

If your son is keen on IP, then he has to select VS as SJI will not be ready for IP till 2013. Thus for IP path, he can do a 6 years IP in VS but can only go for 4 years IP in SJI ( from sec 3 as IP not ready yet)

SJI would be starting the IP for 2014 Sec 3 batch meaning the 2012 Sec 1 batch would be eligible

I guess I will go for VS IP course ahead of SJI. If he doesn’t get through to VS IP course, then he can still try in Sec3 as SJI when IP opens up.

U can choose VS IP first choice then SJI 2nd choice. Entry to S3 SJI IP in 2014 should be very limited.

Spent 1 hr talking to DS. He is still deciding between SJI and VS. Anyone can provide the pros and cons between 2 schools (other than distance).

Just saw this in SJI website:

SJI is still in discussion with MOE on the schedule for moving into the holding site. SJI will be most likely be at the holding site from 2014 to 2015.

SJI is more for well known for holistic all round education. Perhaps look at the CCA available too. Try talking to others for their opinion as well.
