      Hi Essential,

The marks in report book are depressing...So i'm too glad to have to return it b4 holiday begins. Told my boy his no-work week is over...it's back to serious work. Next year this time, He can play to his heart's content after PSLE...provided he has done his best. Have bought those assessment books to focus on those weak areas. Now have to plan when to 'cut ribbon' to have official opening

I'm in the same shoes. Those grades were depressing for us but I'm not sure how my DS feels about it. Still playing everyday.......... today just bought 2 assessement books for him and he's already looking so bored at the sight of them. I wonder when we can \"cut the ribbon\"!

I have 3 kids too, very difficult to juggle. I am going through topic by topic for P6 math using the step by step math. Now doing ratio. Hopefully that i can complete all the topics before the holiday end. How much work do you usually give to your ds? My boys always complaint that i give too much work when i only give then about 4 pages of problem sums and 1 english exam paper.

Hi, same here too, I feel that I don't give so much but ds complains that its alot. Boys are boys....He is revising P3&P4 Science, about 10 problem sums and English (S&T, editing, clozes)......Not too much right? Furthermore no school still complain...aiyoh.. :slapshead:

Most schools would have finished most, if not all the p6 syllabus by end of term 2. so p6 is actually a very short and busy year. Besides learning new things, the kids still need to spend time to revise old topics. I think it is important to start revising subjects with heavy content, eg. science. And to clear all maths concepts, if they are having problems. P6 maths is really an extension with a few new topics.

Yeah, P6 is just like the gestation period of a bb - 10 months.
There are just a couple of new topics for math and science...after that, it's doing, doing and doing past year papers.
I reminded my son that he needs to put in SHEER HARD WORK if he wants good results next year.

:nailbite: Oh my god, so much to complete in Dec....got to revise old topics of Science, cover P6 Maths & Science topics and do past year papers. I really hope that all these can be covered. 🤷

Just realised that while I'm asking DD to revise a few hours a day, my dad has been asking her to take a break...

Think he does not realise how different things are these days 🤷

DS teacher told him that when school reopen, he will use 1 month to finished all the P6 syllabus. After that will be revisions.

WHAT ? :yikes: But teacher is really nice to inform the class what to expect in Jan.
I was combing through P6 Science and almost fainted to see so much to be covered...2 topics - energy and interactions and each topic is so in-depth :faint: We are still covering P3-5 topics. Tutor has started P6 Math last week.
