I just took a look at jwps web and from their psle results, I think both jwps and wgps could be similar in terms of number of students getting 260+ and 250+.
But is JWPS a good enough Pri sch as very little about the sch is been discussed -
Hi,
Can any parent advise from which year does Westgrove allow children to take higher mother tongue (chinese)?
My DD is going to P2 this year and I wanted her to use higher mother tongue.
During the honours day on 18-Nov, I heard the HCL results being announced for only P5 onwards.
so before P5 kids cannot take HCL??
any parent has experience with kids taking taking HCL in P5 onwards and difficulty faced to cope up?? -

For coping with HCL, I think if the school let the student take HCL, he/she should be able to manage. DS is not good in his languages but he managed to cope with HCL and was allowed to continue in P6. -

Ok. Good to hear that your son was able to cope with HCL.
my DD is ok with CL, so thought if school will allow her to use HCL in P2. Have to check with form teacher in the coming year then.
May be in westgrovet he HCL is allowed from P5 onwards only

some pri sch may start hcl earlier. for example, DS' cousin in shuqun started hcl in p3.

wonder why different school adopt different ways to teach? -
Maybe different school focus more on different subject?
My friend’s DS in Xingnan P2 next yr, will be taking HCL.
I heard that west grove Maths standard is higher than other subject, is it true? -
am not sure!
my DD1 is just going to P2. May be other mummies can update about the core subject importance in westgroove

wgps use the same text books as most primary schools so i dun think that the Math taught are of a different "standard".
