so vk2010...any insider news what will be the RI cop this yr...I think many parents will be eager to know
nothing special about RI. RI just make it very transparent via its supplemental intake (are other schools just as transparent?) -- it is not so much an appeal per se -- candidates are subject to GAT test notwithstanding good t-score if they have not done DSA with RI beforeverykiasu2010:

This is what I mean
1) MOE policy is not policy. It is only a guideline. It is up to the school want or do not want to follow the guideline.
2) RI wants to admit students from S1 posting, outside of S1 posting(those without S1 form or already accepted by other schools via DSA) and un-succesfully S1 application. In summary, every students who score well or do well in certian area
3) Is this fair to other schools and other students who has no DSA and waiting for S1 posting?
4) Why MOE is not doing anything?
5) Is RI given special treatment?
[/quote]the cop will only be known after the MOE computer has made its run on the selection by all S1 candidates
my guess is it will be same as last year (excl decimal places) -
Those who want to predict RI cut off points , please visit the poll section in this forum.

Meaning my son's choice is fine ?
merit over choice. you got to learn to trust yourself and trust the MOE computerSBC dad:
Appreciate your advise here.
For 254+2, knowing the chance of getting into HCI is very low, but still want to give it a try.
Concern is by putting ACSI as 2nd choice , will it mean my son’s chances will be lowered getting into the school ? I read about Merit over Choice, but concern is still there.
1st choice : HCI
2nd choice : ACSI
3rd choice : NJC or RVHS
MTIA
the computer in MOE is programmed to work that way, no emo one
if it is your turn based on the t-score, the computer won't process the next lower score unless your posting is done by the computer -

You will sure end up with ACSI with this selection.
If RV is your second choice then put it as second choice.
NJC probably has the same COP with HCI and cannot use HMT points. -
My DS scored 226 but he would really like to get into St.Andrews which has a COP of 230. Do you think he has a chance? How is the appeal process like over there? Anyone has an idea? Pls help.
Thanks. -

However, except not sure if his score will meet ACSI COP for IP, instead of O levels route. Any sharing from parents here? -
My DD got 235, going SSP. But still need to fill up S1 option as backup school.
The choice she wants as follows
1. YTSS COP 235
2. Riverside COP 229
3. PHS COP 229
4. AMK COP 226
5. Mayflower COP 221
6. Evergreen 223
What’s the chance of getting into YTSS? She refused to include CCH(YI) COP 231
Please advice. TIA -

I would suppose this computer no longer makes mistakes. haha... in my days, my dear classmate with 7points had put HCJC as 1st choice and RJC as 2nd choice. The COP for HCJC was 8 points in the end, but my classmate got a letter posting him to \"Beatty Pre-U centre\". *shock*. In the end, even though his score within HCJC COP, they put him in RJC bc no more space in HCJC.

Oh, and I also had a bit of fun with this computer during the Provisional Entry period, but to my advantage. It was quite a dumb computer. *haha*.
I wonder who were the programmers. -

You can't indicate whether you want IP or O level for ACSI.

Only one code 7001 for all.
The school will decide for you. -

Was it really done by computer during our time ?
