In the past appeal process, RI is the big boss in this whole game holding the first key :imcool: Its decision to accept which students via appeal etc will have trickle down effect to rest of the world. It's the dream school of many boys ie demand is HIGH. Those accepted into RI via appeal will give up their seats in other schools (HCI, ACSI etc included) and these schools call up the other boys to fill up. So on and so forth down the line. As to how stringent this so called new directive of no transfer from MOE this year will be enforced will be closely watched :evil:

I am a convert of the \"transfer\" process because if the principals are facilitating it to make all their students happy, then it is fine and it does not upset the S1 because all these are outside the S1 as it involves the DSA students. as an example, last year RI's cop was 259 and there were some with 262 also could not get in via the DSA transfer route

nothing special about RI. RI just make it very transparent via its supplemental intake (are other schools just as transparent?) -- it is not so much an appeal per se -- candidates are subject to GAT test notwithstanding good t-score if they have not done DSA with RI before

For 254+2, knowing the chance of getting into HCI is very low, but still want to give it a try.
Concern is by putting ACSI as 2nd choice , will it mean my son’s chances will be lowered getting into the school ? I read about Merit over Choice, but concern is still there.

1st choice : HCI
2nd choice : ACSI
3rd choice : NJC or RVHS

if it is your turn based on the t-score, the computer won't process the next lower score unless your posting is done by the computer

You will sure end up with ACSI with this selection.
If RV is your second choice then put it as second choice.
NJC probably has the same COP with HCI and cannot use HMT points.

My DS scored 226 but he would really like to get into St.Andrews which has a COP of 230. Do you think he has a chance? How is the appeal process like over there? Anyone has an idea? Pls help.

My DD got 235, going SSP. But still need to fill up S1 option as backup school.

The choice she wants as follows

1. YTSS COP 235
2. Riverside COP 229
3. PHS COP 229
4. AMK COP 226
5. Mayflower COP 221
6. Evergreen 223

What’s the chance of getting into YTSS? She refused to include CCH(YI) COP 231

I would suppose this computer no longer makes mistakes. haha... in my days, my dear classmate with 7points had put HCJC as 1st choice and RJC as 2nd choice. The COP for HCJC was 8 points in the end, but my classmate got a letter posting him to \"Beatty Pre-U centre\". *shock*. In the end, even though his score within HCJC COP, they put him in RJC bc no more space in HCJC.

Oh, and I also had a bit of fun with this computer during the Provisional Entry period, but to my advantage. It was quite a dumb computer. *haha*.

I wonder who were the programmers.

You can't indicate whether you want IP or O level for ACSI.
Only one code 7001 for all.
The school will decide for you.
