I went through first few pages of the Nail IT MCQs. There are explanations on the side of the pages...and students are 'supposed' to cover the answers with the book edge. Convenient for parents to mark and explain, but will the kids be covering the questions before they attempt ? :scratchhead:

Although we must trust our kids, the chances are 50-50 only atleast to me. Last year, I found twice that my child copied from the answer:(

I am happy at least if they read, understand and then copy. If they just copy for the sake of doing it or to convince mummy, no point. Both time and money is wasted.

However, we can test them by randomly asking few questions. We should be able to figure out from their eyes. My daughter always looks down and don't dare to look at my eyes if she does any mistakes or wrong things.

You are the experienced and dedicated mum. I am sure you can find out.

A friend taught me to fill in the answers of the past year papers and test him...tedious on part of the parents but really save time getting him to answer verbally instead. So I am now picking and choosing some of the exam papers to fill in answers.

not too much work, once I've decided what to put on the mind map. The graphics took some trawling on the web though.

I've removed the older version, so the old link won't work anymore.
It seems that you've to sign up to gain access to the site, I would recommend creating a new email account and use that account to sign up, just to prevent spamming.

You mean we manually write the answers in the past year papers and let the child read the answers, is it? Then how do we know they really understand how to answer? It may be a simple or stupid question. But i really want to know why do you do that. It is for them to understand how to answer, is it?

I dont think this method of testing them on past year topic is going to work, it is pure memorising only…

Yes, manually writing the answers...especially when time is tight nearer the exams, it's difficult to ask kids to finish so many papers...so by filling in the answers, we can verbally go thru with kids.
