ya, gal did tell me that many pupils do walk to the circle line station,
Hi Princess Jojo, many students walk from the school back gate to Mountbatten Stn to take the circle line train. It is actually not very far. I've tried it myself.Princess Jojo:
hi, again, i'm using my kid's login name to write.
Need some advices from all of you.
My dd score is 260 +2, and we are thinking of putting NYGS as 1st choice, follow by Dunman high and NJC( non-sap school ). Really hope that she can get into one of these schools.
We are staying near lorong Chuan MRT station. after checking using streets directory and google map, we fould that from our place to Dunman high is not that straigh forward at all. ( either taking 158 bus from Aljunied station, or taking buses from dakota/ mountbattern station. ( but why the bus stop is so far away from the these cc staion? ) is there any better/faster way to go thre?
Pls. advise if ther is any school bus from my place ?
DS used to take 158 bus from DHS to Serangoon Interchange. Thanks to the circle line, his total journey time has now reduced.
In the morning, DH sends DS to DHS.
(rhyming!)
telling us need not come to fetch her.....
but was told that if during evening time, must walk in groups,
the shortcut is rather deserted, not too safe for girls  :boogie:
isit true ?? i din walk before ..... -

All PMs replied, pl check -
thanks again, Augmum and sally sara, really appreciated.
well, being a KS and "caring father", I will have to try out this walking today…
a bit very concern about the "deserted" word…
i will try for the shortcut path from Mountbatten station to DHS… -
Princess Jojo:
oh certainly, we are all caring daddies n mummies here.....thanks again, Augmum and sally sara, really appreciated.

i am not too sure of the \"deserted path \" too...
i hearsay fr one of the mummy.....she told me not to walk alone during evening time...
anyway, these pupils usually walk in grps as it's approx a 10 min walk,
and they ususally stop at Mac to have a drink before continue walking......

nothing beats 亲身体验。The path is not so 'ulu' to me.
How's yr dd Y3 subj-combi selection result? Hope she gets in what she wants.

hi all,
Just came back from the field trial!! Walking from Mountbatten station to Dunman high side door ( near to gate 3), it is about 13 mins plus. Perhaps along the way i slow down a bit for direction confirmation.
On my way back, i took another path, walking towards the bus stop ( opp- lasalle-sia ) and take 158 to Aljunid MRT. The walking time is about 10 mins, and the bus journey is ~ 9 mins plus.
i guess walking to and for mountbatten station is better in general. Or taking a bus from mountbatten station to dhs main door if you are \"lazy\". Take note: bus 158 interval is ~ 11 to 17 mins. ( depending on the hour again )
It was rainning just now, once i reached HDB area from dhs side gate, there is shelter path all the way to the bus stop. Nice!!
well, a bit Ulu to me especially near to the mountbatten station.( its surrounding ) that is all. Not too bad. Of cause it is alway better to walk in group

nice to hear from u updating yr field trial.....
the bus stop for 158 is juz opp the sch main gate ....
how come the walking time is 10 min ?? which gate did u use ??
Is there any bus fr mountbatten station to DHS main gate?
or do u mean Aljunied station ?
u mention that 158 interval is 11-17 min, for normal days or school holidays,
holiday interval may be longer ?
i heard that u can actually see the timing of the bus arrival at the sch canteen ?
