Good luck ngbrdad! What's 7001? ACSI?ngbrdad:
OK just submitted online S1 form and printed out the confirmation page.
7001, 3103, 7102, 7020,3047, 3204 can go and buy 4D tomorrow
and NIL, NIL,NIL for the 3 third language options.
Decided that it may be nice for DS to have 2 free afternoons hopefully.
Hope I won't regret this decision later.
Oh and find 1 day to go down to Bishan and pay twenty bucks.
Yes 7001 is ACSI -

I just heard that Bishan may be the holding site for SJI in 2014-2015. Anyone heard this news? I called school yesterday but they did not provide any information. As a result, I have chosen VS over SJI.
Please help. If the holding site is in Bishan, I may reconsider our selection. -

I know Maris Stella also need you to put in the initial $2k to \"notebook\" the school. Any other school need to do this?I'm sure all the kids going to SST next year are all eagerly waiting to meet their brand new Macbook Pros.
The parents may not be that please with the $2k price tag though

if you are referring to all top schools for the 100 may be about right...so it is, say, 100 out of 1800 of the 'top' 4
How many schools are we talking about? 100 places for all the top schools should be about right, or only RI?
For RI, there are those who entered through music, art and other talents. They don't go to the sports class, so DSA students with lower than 260 is higher than what we see in the sports class.
So non-DSA will be around 800 seats left going by this argument. Plus they reserve a few seats for returning Singaporeans and foreign scholars... :skeptical: -

Yes 7001 is ACSI
Good luck on your appeal! If not ACSI is a very good school too.

What should we say to the principal in this case?
The weather, the food, the school, then introduce your DD. They already know your agenda. Dale Carnegie's lesson. Just be nice.
To appeal takes no more than 10 minutes. Just fill in the form and submit. If the principal is around, go speak to him/her if you like.2ppaamm:
Hi, am wondering if there is a need to take leave on both days, that is 21 Dec and 22 Dec. There are a few queries, hope someone can help to address:
a) what time will parents receive SMS on posting? This translates to how much time we have to handle and follow up on appeal if need be
b) how long is the sec 1 reporting on 22 dec? what are the dear children required to do at the new school?
The above answers will help parents to factor in how much time we have for appeal should the need arises.
Thanks.
Qn b is critical as it means Typical

may be just a shade above 200 for the 50th percentile. why i guess this way was because recently it was reported that about 60+% made it to express stream, and we know the express stream starts at 188
It is supposed to be 200 according to the normal distribution. No, no maybe not. It is supposed to be 50 for each subject. If you are exactly at the mean or 50th percentile for each subject, then your T-score is 200.
Since most kids around the mean are not poor in every single subject, they score higher than the mean for some. Therefore the T-score 50th percentile is higher than 200, but about 200 is a good gauge. Just like the rest of the percentile, it is always 'about', because of the aggregation.
Am I confusing? So the T-score (correction from my previous post) is an aggregation of a number of bell curves (not a single bell curve). So, there is not really a 'full marks', a kid really much brighter than the rest of his peers for all subjects can score 300+ or even 1000! Or a really poor kid can technically score 0. But it is not practically possible because most would fall inside the 3 standard deviations, one kid's result seldom impact the s.d. that much to cause his own score to deviate so much from the mean. O, if I am talking rubbish, just ignore me.
