Aiyah, I forgot that this is the 2nd year we are getting MC cloze practice. It is very progressive and hence my dd has a better idea that comprehension cloze skills are very much dependent on the vocab n grammar sections which are in the earlier part of the book.

          Hi

In the same way that one can purchase Maths IQ books (from Casco and Maths456.com), are there any English (Language) IQ books, that anyone could list here, please.

            Hi Champion,

Presently using Mastering Cloze by Geetha Menon/Mia Ali (EPH)...comprehension passages not easy but still have to work on it. Son and I trying to get hang of P6 cloze...really no joke like what my friend told me.

This year, we were almost :imdrowning: hope next year, we will be able to float.

Alamak, why ONLY TIMES TAMPINES ??? So far leh.

Hi, Plum-cake - thanks for the info :hugs:

Yes, Janet - Tampines is on the opposite end of mine and when I suggested to DH yesterday night,\" Shall we go Tampines this weekend for shopping?\" He asked,\" Why Tampines? Your parents staying at Pasir Ris not Tampines!\" Alamah :faint:

I am trying and looking through the format so as to understand better the PSLE exam format requirements 😓 DD1 has started working on the P4 Elite Book 😉 but as usual, the same \"repeated pattern\" - skip the OE comprehension!

                    Hi Champion,

Saw you mentioned Elite English Assessment book.

Is it really good to buy? My DD is in P2 and she already has the below:
                    1) All in one English assessment by Geetha Menon
                    2) Ultimate Grammer, Vocab and Comprehension by Geetha Menon
                    3) Graphic Stimulus cloze
                    4) Another Cloze book (forgot the name… ayah)

                    Pls advise…

                      Hi Champion,

I get my son to attempt all the sections EXCEPT OE for Comprehension…not bcos he is good but every passage is different, so I personally find it pointless to get that one done.

When I mentioned Tampines to hubby, he was like, ‘For what ?’

                        Hi mother 777,
I bought Elite for P2 and P6 after going through the sample pages...there are diagnostic tests and I think it is useful as daughter's school has tests every 10 weeks.

                        I would recommend:
                        1) A Cloze assessment (grammar/vocab/comprehension cloze)...either Mastering Cloze or Cloze Practice should be fine.

                        2) 1 assessment for Comprehension.
                        3) 1 assessment for both grammar & vocab as weekly practice
                        4) Elite English.
