KTKLN for indo maid?

My maid went back on 12th November. She called me twice :
* Her flight arrived in JKT at 3plus. It wasn't until the next morning that they can leave the airport. She said that domestic workers cannot leave the airport and take transport by themselves. There is a transport that brings all the domestic workers from airport to somewhere..... Anyone is aware of such practise? Didn't have this issue when she flew directly to her kampung last time round.
* I gave her SGD as a bonus at the airport. She said they change the SGD I gave her to IDR but at a significantly lower rate.
* She called on last saturday saying that she had done her KTKLN card. it took her 1 day. However... she need to pay S$100 more to whoever... tsk tsk tsk

Just wonder why should the poor maid be exploited??? :spank:

For those whose maid are going back for home leave, take this as a watch out.

My maid went back on 30 Oct to yogkarta. She has the KTKLN card but the card has her ex employer address. So I asked her to change it or do a new card there. She sms me a week later telling me do not need to change address. The office there told her can still use. She came back on 17th Nov. No one gave her any issue due to this card.

Maid went home today.

Instructed her to make the KTKLN card immediately upon arrival at Yogjakarta.
Previously I called the office and they said she can make the card there.
They open till 3pm.
She reached there at 1:30pm and they told her that she cannot make the card there!
I don’t know what was the reason, she told me over the phone but I could not understand her.
Anyway, she was instructed to do the card in Cilacap which is like 5 hours from her home town.
I don’t know what is going on!
I don’t even know if she will be able to make the card.

I asked my maid to sms me… now I know the reason.


The officer there said she does not have her ktp and kk card with her so cannot make!
Ktp card is like the NRIC and kk i suppose is birth cert.

Why is it that the Indonesian Embassy did not inform us of this?
And also when maid called the Yogjarkata office when she was in Singapore, they did not inform her as well.

It must be stressful for you. My helper managed to do her KTKLN card in Bandung without any pb. My geography is not good but is Bandung near Yogjakarta?

Bandung is west java, yogjakarta is central java. According to my maid, yogjakarta is nearer her hometown than cilacap, so I dunno why they tell her go cilacap to make.

I hope she will be successful.

My maid finally managed to get the KTKLN at Cilacap today and it cost her 600 000 rupiah!

From the experience of those who went to Batam, it cost 300 000 rupiah.
The office at Yogjakarta quoted 400 000 rupiah.

The card is only for 2 years, which means she would have to reapply again the next time she goes for home leave.

Fortunately my maid had enough cash with her!
Now I am hoping that she will return as planned.
