Do U hv any idea what SCGS is looking out for during DSA, are they looking at the marks the girl scored in P5 or the CCA cos I dont know their niche area.

Just wondering,,,, I notice that not many Raffles girls apply for SCGS, are chances of getting in slim?? Tks πŸ˜„

SCGS' niche area is dance. Quite difficult to get in.

Ahh πŸ˜‚ So, SCGS want dancing queens :boogie:.... then SCGS is out for my girl. She simply hates dance and drama.
:rotflmao: The best route to a top school is through PSLE results or academic DSA. If you DSA through sports/aesthetics etc the child will have to maintain interest and passion in the sport all through her secondary school life and some kids change their minds along the way.

        Yes, agree with jtoh.

scarly dancing queen dance, dance, dance half way - dance until tired bec need to practise CCA so often, start to lose stamina, lose interest. 😒

primary school only handle max 4 subjects. Sec school, a lot more subjects to cope with & manage. furthermore, either O level track or IP programme can get rigorous & demanding, lot of projects to work on, assignments due, this, that ...

I got 265 for PSLE and merit for HCL, I scored 360/400 for p6 SA1 and 345 for p6 prelims

Thanks. So we can see a higher standard of about 6marks for RGPS Prelim here.

Talking about smart science lab, I had enquired at the school a few months back. What sets them apart from TLL upstairs is their emphasis on practical work. They devote a larger proportion of the lesson on \"lab\" work. They even require the kids to wear lab coats. Saw one girl in it once..looked so cute and smart. Hence, SMART science LAB. Haha.

The coat cost 40 plus dollars πŸ˜„
Uh, hope you mean happy surprised? My dd did comparatively well in her class with her D but it is not a HD so also not that exciting. Still, I will celebrate her D with her πŸ’‹

My girl P5 just got back her UNSW Maths too, they sure took some time to return the maths results, I was pleasantly surprised that she obtained D too but didnt know they had HD till aqeqiq mentioned.
Will a D in UNSW Maths helps in DSA?

I believe it does help to a certain extent, but ultimately, it all boils down to how well your DD performs in the tests and interviews.

I bought both sets for my DD. But my DD told me only Higher chinese books needed. I have to exchange other books.
