Don't think Cedar/Victoria will go so high in terms of COP.Thank you, theHamsterLover! What I heard was, \"If MOE sends me 120...\", \"If MOE sends me....80\", \"30 over places taken up through DSA\", \"If your girls score above 250, they are already very good, in the top 10%\", so we parents are trying to read between the lines, hahaha.
Guess many of us with kids below 259 are anxiously waiting for cutoff of Cedar (DDs)/Victoria(Ds) and Dunman High. Others are crossing their fingers for RV (too far for us), and NJC (we ruled this out because DD flat out say no on hearing about boarding school. Her brothers also gave negative feedbacks sorry sorry...those who like the school.)
Think 20th night will be sleepless in Singapore.
Not above 255 .
Your DD should have no problem.
So you will hit Cedar as first choice and the DH option becomes a non factor. -

dunno if parents will scold her if their daughters cannot get in with 250/251... :nunchuk:
Um, I have a friend who's interested in going to Cedar so she attended their open house. According to her, the principal or someone like that said something like if u get 250 or 251 and up or something (can't remember which) u should be quite safe getting into the Cedar IP program. Good luckless kiasu liao:
Hi, everyone, long time follower but newbie poster of this forum. Thank you all for your company all this while.:-)
Thanks ngbrdad for raising my dd's case of unexpectedly scoring A for CL but distinction for HCL. Some of her usual top EL scorers in her school also scored only A in the PSLE (hers was A* still) but their marks remained in the 260s. Noticed that among the 250s, no one scored A* for CL.
Incidentally, I heard from a friend that SEAB's directive was to be lenient in EL this year.
Cedar's principal indicated during open house that the number of IP was not fixed, so I wonder if MOE will fix a cut off point instead. Guess that will be anywhere between mid 250s to 258. Anyone can give a closer gauge?
Lastly, hope all our kids get into schools that are good for them, though not necessary the bland name ones.. From my family's experience, that is all that matters in the end.

After all no one can tell the exact COP of a school (except for maybe MOE people?) before posting, but that's what my friend told me, anyway. Good luck to people participating in S1 posting!

As many as they want. -
If someone got a CO from a school through DSA. Then if the person did extremely well in PSLE and decided to appeal for the top school, what are his or her chances?

MOE is clamping down on such cases from this year. So if you have a CO and have exercised that CO, you will not be allowed to appeal to another school using your PSLE results. Many schools are taking this MOE directive seriously. -

Thank you..... :D[/quote]It wasn't that strict last year and the years before that. Know some schoolmates who DSA CO to NYGH but appealed to RG instead. Also heard of a few cases for HCI CO to RI.jtoh:

Choco05:
Exactly. The appeals have been going on for years because the schools entertained them and MOE turned a blind eye. It's been making a mockery of the DSA process and MOE decided enough was enough this year. BUT let's wait and see if any appeals are successful this year shall we?
