I have a direct bus to TKGS.
I have both grade 5 certs of theory(pass) and Piano practical(merit) and interested to Band or Clubbies (Infocomm Club And Art Club). Can i join the MEP with those certs? no worries, i have another cert in grade 4 practical also merit.

According to MOE,
No banding - 8 schools
Band 1 - 10 schools
Band 2 - 9 schools
Band 3 - 5 schools
are available in 2011.

I wish, my girl could get into no Banding school.

However, all are depending on students PSLE marks.

The most important is a student set her/his mind.

I have a true story in my time.

A boy got 281 marks when he was in P6 and became a Hwa Chong student.
He did not score well during 4 years and finally, he was kicked out by HC, end up in NY JC.

His A level was very good.
Now he is a doctor.

A moral of the story, A level is important than PSLE.

Sometime, a dream school can be in nightmare.

Hi! I'm an MEP student from TKGS. You should be fine since your certificates are over Grade 3 (minimum requirement) so long as they are from ABRSM or an equivalent. You will still need to take an aural test and a practical test (on your primary instrument, performing 2 contrasting pieces). Pass it and we might meet next year! Are you coming on 22 Dec? Heehee, I'll be there
Seriously consider MEP if you are a very musically inclined person. I didn't use to like music much, but I grew really passionate about it just after a few months... Btw, our school Symphonic Band is pretty good, we've been scoring Gs & GWHs for years yes, you will need to audition for it..

Hello. You are MEP student now? What grade are you in @ primary 6 and how did you get in through MEP?
Thank You for your very detailed explaination. But for the symphonic Band matters, if i am new, which means I am going there to pick up a new instrument (my desire instruments: Flute, Oboe,Clarinet), how can i pass the audition with my current learning instrument which is not in the band?
