      pineapple tarts:
Sorry, my question was wrong. Correction below. šŸ˜“

Mary spent $40 on 4 hairclips and 4 hairbands. 2 hairclips cost as much as 3 hairbands. FInd the cost of 1 hairband.
      Hi

      4 clips + 4 bands = $40
      2 clips + 2 bands = $ 20
      Since 2 clips = 3 bands, 3 bands + 2 bands = $ 20 ie 5 bands = $20, so 1 band = $4

      cheers.

Hi pineapple tart, it was stated in the question that 2 hair clips is the price of 3 hair bands. Since 2clips + 2 bands = 20
Therefore replacing the 2 clips with the clips 3 bands you will have: 3 bands + 2 bands bands=20

                  Hi,

I need help for the following question.

Michelle has more than 50 hairpins.
If she puts them in packets of 7, she has 5 hairpins left.
If she puts them in packets of 9, she has 6 hairpins left.
How many hairpins does Michelle have?

                  Thanks!

                    The answer is 96.

                    Why? Because
                    >50
                    so
if packed in 7 with a remainder 5:
                    49+5 ; 56+5 ; 63+5 ; 70+5 ; 77+5 ; 84+5 ; 91+5
                    54 ; 61 ; 68 ; 75 ; 82 ; 89 ; 96
if packed in 9 with a total of the above, which no. I can get remainder 6?
                    6 r 0 ; 6 r 7 ; 7 r 5 ; 8 r 2 ; 9 r 1 ; 9 r 8 ; 10 r 6

                    So 96 is the answer.
