          alng:

We have applied for NYPS 2 years ago for my ds. We have a good referee, someone who knows the school senior management. With that, we were granted an interview. During the interview, we were asked if we mind being traffic controllers once or twice a week under rain or shine. We did not mind at all but we were not accepted as PV. We concluded that we have failed due to two reasons: 1) we are > 2km 2) competition is really stiff as even alumni from NYGH were applying to be PV.

I have a good friend who was successul in doing PV and getting her dragon year ds into NYPS in 2007. She has a good referee then and she was accepted as PV. She clocked her 80 PV hours by being a traffic controller in her office attire at 1pm once or twice a week under rain or shine. Her sacrifice was more than the 80 hours spent. It was also her sacrifice of lunch hour plus taxi fare to and from her office at Shenton Way.

All the best in your application!
          Dear alng,

          Thanks for sharing... :please:

My DD1 had a transfer to BPPS so im already very happy. šŸ•ŗ

            Hi phtthp,

Because they never study from NYPS.
            NYGH is a secondary school.

I've called Mrs Ong 2 weeks ago and she said will notify us end of the year.
Seems like quite hopeless 'cos the aknowlegement mentioned will selected applicants will be called up for interview in November šŸ˜ž

                  hi

My boy is born in 2007 and I have submitted my PV application to NYPS in 2009. Called the school but was informed that the PV list will be out in Dec šŸ˜ž
Since interview has already started in Nov. I guss that there is no chance already šŸ˜ž

Perhaps the school is busy and take longer to reply. No harm wait a little while longer for their reply but it is also good to start to make alternative plans, just in case.

Does being a PV and also active in RC activities improve your chances in Phase 2b?

For PV depends on the distances and how u can really support the school, and for RC , no idea , but for clan , depends on years , if u are in for a least four years and active , u will have greater chances. šŸ˜„
