      Hi,

Anyone knows which popular outlet sells the vocab book? My friend is trying to get their book, she went to Tampines Mall and Bras Basah outlets but could not find it.

For vocab book, you can go thru with your child and make sure they get the slight difference in meaning eg- reserved, indifferent, withdrawn- for the first chapter…and then test them on their understanding and also see if they know how to use it. I came up with extra sentences following the exercise to get my child to be more familiar with the usage of the word.

For compo, you can follow the strategies outlined and get your child to write. For compo, I dont do much, I depend on TAS to help.

Hi I'm a kid in Singapore and I've attended both Learning Lab as well as TAS.

Learning Lab (english): I don't really like the lessons very much. In fact, it's quite boring. Their comp is like 13 paragraphs. NORMALLY, they take it from books. For compo, the etcher will ask the students to copy out the whole comp (usually). For vocabulary, it's very hard!!! (for me)

TAS: Much better than Learning Lab!!! (kid's view) but the classrooms are smaller though but comphrension passages are interesting and not as many paragraphs as learning lab :please: but synthesis is way harder than Learning Lab! But in vocabulary, they have a way to make the students remember the meanings of words. 😄 and i think it's quite helpful!

Hope this helps! Any questions, just PM me or reply! 😉

The assessment for TAS seems quite simple though I didn’t look into the papers. Think it’s good for them to do that so they can identify if the child is suitable for that level.

My friend called up TAS to ask more about their vocab book to see if she could buy it direct from them. They said no, only tas students can buy direct but right now, the books is available only at a few Popular outlets as they need to do a reprint as they sold out their books. Eventually, their books will be sold at all popular outlet stores.

Right now, their vocab books are available at Junction 8, United Square and Toa Payoh.
