Current teck ghee principal was Anderson vice principal. VP do admin work only. As for why teck ghee suddenly so popular, my guess is becoz one of their teachers won an award. Only one teacher. Doesn't mean it will benefit your kid coz may not be teaching him/her. I stay just opposite teck ghee. A lot of pr and new citizens here.
Your info is very inaccurate. The current P is fm monfort and vp from Anderson. I see both all over the school ... Definitely beyond admin! The school close registration at phase 2c .. So should have mostly locals. I think we should share info responsibly and only if we are very sure that it is accurate. -
Have u never checked the job scope of a VP? Pls go check it up at MOE. I have read it in the papers before that it is admin work lah.
Ok, perhaps I have mixed up the Anderson vp part. So that means he was still a vp and not promoted.
Are PRs locals? Gosh, u don’t even know what is PR. PR means permanent residents. It means not Singapore citizens. Phase 1-phase 2c are open to citizens and PRs. Before u go blasting, please know your facts.
I didn’t say it is mainly foreigners in the school, just that I noticed that there is a high no of foreigners in the neighbourhood. When u have more foreigners in the neighborhood, likely they will apply for the nearest sch. -

Eg. NYPS has 2 VPs. Their official titles are Vice Principal (Instructional Programme) and Vice Principal (Administration). -

I wonder how you got so much insider information about who is a PR and who is not. Speculating stuff and making it out as a fact here ... not very credible lah ... especially so since simple fact of who the P is also wrong!

Need some advice here.My child is born in 2008. My hubby is from Mayflower, so means if i choose Mayflower, it will be direct entry. But we stay very near to Anderson primary school and i think its a better school? If so I am thinking to do PV. I can also choose to join SHHK and choose Chongfu primary school and my mum stays within2km of ChongFu. What are your thoughts?

Hi, was thinking to register my son either in Mayflower Pri or teck ghee Pri for next year p1? Didn’t know that teck ghee Pri is quite a good sch until I read this forum. Both schools ate in single session, right? Not very familiar with schools in amk area. I will be using my in law’s address in amk as my mil is helping to look after my kids. TG Pri is within 1km whereas MFp was their cousin’s school. Please advise.

@boyz
Do take note that if you are using a caregiver's address to register, you will be considered to be in the 1 - 2 km category, even if the actual distance is within 1km.
Taken from http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/statutory-declaration/ :
If statutory declaration is used, children who are registered using either the grandparent’s or the parent’s sibling’s address and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km of the school of choice are balloted together with the other children residing between 1 km and 2 km of the school.
