My friend's son was rejected by DHS, he was so upset. He though it is because of GAT, he said how could a school based on GAT to rejected him. (His school result is really not that good 65% average) I have to be cruel to tell him, it is not only GAT, he has to work hard for his PSLE.

Why he thinks it is GAT failed him ? His cousin also rejected few years back, and he was told he failed GAT. I don know the school had simply gave him a reason or it is true. It sent the wrong information to these kids.

        :?

65% is considered bad. Even 85% average for all the subjects may not be good enough.

Actually, it is possible to get in if you are scoring at about 85%. You just have to work hard(like everyone else) and you will score well!
But DHS sets very difficult Math questions (even for assignments), so if he is scoring around 65% he will have to work on his math

FYI. There will be a change of principal in Dunman High. Their current Principal who is a president scholar will be replaced by Nan Hua High school principal. There might be some changes in school.

            :!: 😢 😢 😢

How did you know that? Was he an old boy of DHS? Who will be Nan Hua next principal? Nowadays, the principals seem to be rotating very quickily.

Mr Sng is a former DHS student. You can get the info from http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2009/10/appointment-of-principals.php

yes, saw from moe website, there are lots of reshuffling among principals from various schools, both primary and secondary schools.

so any1 has any info abt this new principal from nan hua (dr foo).

told gal abt the change of principal of DHS. she's kind of sad, saying , \"i like the principal, he's such a goody goody man, i mean his look.........\"

oic, so this is the first impression she had when she first saw him at the open house..............told her to study and the school environment, she \"studied\" the principal instead........haha

there’re indeed lots of "stories" being discussed there. think there’s always bound to have good and bad teachers around in all schools. that’s y parents used to say, "which teacher u get, depends on yr luck".

There are also some of the DHS class blog you can explore.

My wife and myself like the school. The only problem is that the girls to boys ratio is 2:1. If I have an daughter, I will definitely send her there. Their JC is also new. There are also a lot of facilities not ready in their new campus at the beginning of the year and were creating some inconvenience. Now, I think it is completed.
