        RaikouAura:
May I know when is the bookshop open during the school holidays? (date/time)

Hi RaikouAura, have you gone there yet? I'm aware that sales have started for the sec 2s to sec 4s on the 2nd storey.
        rylee:
Appreciate that. Think have to think twice about the 3rd language. Will call the book shop to check on the uniform purchase.

        Thanks.
Hi Rylee, if I'm not wrong, I don't think other shops sell them. It's better to get them from the school because several items are required, such as badge, tie, socks, PE attire, uniform, house vest etc. So it's less confusing if you get them from school. πŸ˜ƒ
        CandyHeart:
        Dear victorians,

How do u cope with HML in VS? With tuition or teachers' help is suffice?

My DS's command of English is only so so, how much help from the teachers are we looking at?

For those who have to take more than an hour to school, how do you manage your time?
Hi CandyHeart, regarding English, the teachers are generally quite good. If your DS has any questions, I'm sure the teachers will be able to answer them. πŸ˜ƒ The standard of english in VS is good.
        Coddington:
        Hi,
You will never regret going to VS!!
        Hi Coddington, very true. πŸ˜ƒ
        Mami_needsabreak:
My DS is very excited and looking forward to be a Victorian next year!
Hi Mami_needsabreak, that's good to hear! I hope he gets his choice! πŸ˜ƒ
        stressedoutmummy:
Hi, my son has decided that he would like to be in VS (and i hope he gets in). Is there any prep he could do during this 'free time' rather than surfing the net or play games? Any book on history / geog / lit that this mummy can buy in advance at popular book store. Thanks in advance. πŸ™‚
Hi stressedoutmummy, perhaps the textbooks? I think he'll do fine though even without the early prep. πŸ˜ƒ He could work on his fitness for the sec 1 orientation camp - there's a 2.4km run during the camp! πŸ˜ƒ

If anyone who has any questions, feel free to PM me or ask me here. πŸ˜ƒ Unless things have changed drastically in the last 4-5 years, I should be able to answer your queries. πŸ˜ƒ

Not to worry so much abt the books, shirts…etc… thingys.

You DS will carry the VS spirits
and automatically knows what to do after he gets in…

Most importantly, make friends & live in happily.

Saw the notice being put up in VS last week. 10 sec 1 classes next year, of which 4 is for IP.

I was wondering...if the best students all move towards IP, the bell curve will favour the good students who are still taking the O levels (with RI, HCI out of the picture). Will those in VS taking the O level route benefit from this trend, since they would supposedly be one of the best among all taking the O levels?

Not only VS \"benefit\", other schools which has been doing very well in O Levels include CHS, St Nicks, SCGS, etc. All these schools will be offering IP + O Level route come 2012.

So those who would have been in the middle or upper middle range will now come in tops in O levels. Comforting thought for those who missed out on IP, perhaps?

                      quite strange then...
90 IP students into 4 classes and
                      270 non-IP students into 6 classes

At Cedar open house, the principal said that the number of IP places was not confirmed... \"If MOE sends me 120 girls, I will put them in 4 classes. If MOE sends me 80, I will put them in 3.\" Wonder if it is the same for VS.

Hope this means Cedar will also have 4 classes= 120 places. :boogie: :xedfingers: :please:
