          I think so too.
My tutor told me there will be some changes with P1/2 oral next year. She will be helping me find out more when school reopens.

I think most of the parents out-sourced the MT, so its in tutors hands lor...

comparatively, feel that Chinese Assessment Books does not have much new publication 🤷

                HI PLUM-CAKE 🙂

Honestly, it's much much easier to buy CL assessment books as compared to other subjects...that's why I get CL assessment books last. It's a torture to buy the other 3 subjects...standing there and going through contents is :stupid:

                  Champion & Janet,

Think you're both right, not so much variety of assessment books for Chinese. 😂

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question.

My son’s not in HCL and his foundation in chinese is not that strong. The present tutor is giving him homework from several assessment books, xi ji, ding xie as weekly homework. I find it stressful to even finish the homework ( let alone him) but she insisted that he needs to build up!
I completed understand her kind intention but I am have the thought that too much assessment book is not that effective after all. Parent with similar experience, pls advise.

I agreed that for languages, assessment books alone doesn't work. If they don't know how to read the words or don't understand what does it means, even doing many many worksheets, does not help. Same goes with my kids. I think need to speak more to them in Chinese and read more story books to them. Also getting them to understand what does those words mean and using these works in making sentences. My kids only scored average for Chinese. So maybe someone whose kids scored higher marks can advise us what should we do. I personally thinks that once a week tuition for Chinese is not enough, though my kids did not have tuition for Chinese.

Experienced that last year...son had so much school homework we had to help him !!! Ex tutor literally piled on homework from every assessment book :slapshead: ...had to tell her to go easy. Building up foundation is impt, but have to see how it is done...quality, not quantity.
