Just a bit of sharing for those who want to purchase the happycall pan. Only the Standard Happycall Without Hook is been imitated. Those without hook are not imitated yet. I stumble upon and official release from Happycall how to spot fake Happycall pan and i put it in my http://tinyurl.com/hcpspree02. The imitation is quick to copy a lot of standard hcp features, Sticker is no longer a good yardstick to determine the authentic. The darker plastic circle is harder to imitate as according to one my client who is in the plastic mold industry. Fake quality is not good at that. Silicon tube are also harder to fake if you use the wrong material. If a HCP cost around $30~$50 in korea, plus ems shipment around $20 plus , you know they can't sell you so low even at large quality

Oh god I suspect my pan is fake but there are similar authenticated points except box same as Alex fake 1. The logo has r too! Argh my mil got it for 48, and the spare rubber is not in a proper box. U think it's fake?

        Any dec spree?

I bought mine from Gmarket. Easy to use and it doesn't make the kitchen messy. šŸ˜„

Want to get a 2nd pan for an aunt who needs it soon as maid will be leaving her household. I'm looking for a gmarket \"double coupon\" to cut down the purchase price. If any of you have any near expiring \"double coupon\", and you do not require it, could you \"sent coupon as a gift\" to me? PM me, with thanks. šŸ™‚

Making yam cake is now such a breeze using HCP. Making it again tonight.

Making Yam Cake with HCP? How to do it? I thought you have to steam the yam batter first?

                  This is what I did.
Just follow ur normal recipe, when the rice flour starts to stick together usually u would transfer to a plate to steam it right? In HCP, just shape it into a block. Then close the HCP and cook for 20 mins using slightly lower fire. U can open at intervals to check it readiness. The HCP can create the moisture for the yam cake plus it cooks faster too. šŸ™‚ http://i42.tinypic.com/20kdbmf.jpg\">

I didn't have any garnish at hand to beautify it. šŸ˜›

I had no intention of getting the pan as I have tried the one my mum has and was not that convinced.

But somehow over this weekend, I ended up owning 2. Mum bought 1 for me from Korea and MIL passed me one as well. :?

Not appropriate for me to sell them so now I'm looking for recipes to put these pans to use.

                      Hi,
Can you share your recipe? I have not done yam cake before and would love to try after seeing your pics. šŸ™‚ Btw, I supposed it works for carrot cake as well? Do you have the recipe for carrot cake too? Thanks.

Here is the yam cake recipe. I did not have any carrot cake one.. maybe u can try to google it.

                        Recipe adopted from Monster's Kitchen:
                        Ingredients :
1 small yam, peeled the skin and cut into small cubes ( i used about 1kg yam before peeling)
1/2 bowl dried prawns, soak in water
                        2 bowls rice flour
                        4 bowls water
                        1/4 tsp five spice powder
                        1/4 tsp pepper
                        1 tsp salt

                        Garnishing :
                        Fried shallots
                        Fried crispy dried prawns
                        Spring onion, chopped
Red chilli, cut into thin strips

                        Method :
                        1) Steam the Yam cubes while cooking rice in the rice cooker.
                        2) Add all the ingredients except YAM cubes into the HCP and mix. Should get a watery mixture.
                        3) Add the yam cubes into the mixture
                        4) On the fire and keep stirring the mixture until it is able to form a \"dough\"
                        5) Shape it into a block look.
                        6) Cover the cover and continue to let it cook for 12-15 mins on medium to low fire.
                        7) The end product should looks greyish.

NOTE: Let it COOL down before removing it from the HCP. (it will harden). Also can serve it hot, but will be rather soft diffcult to cut it up.
