      Snow Crystal:

My fren's son from mainstream is thriving in RI. GPA near 4.0 plus in sports CCA. So don't worry too much. And if your son gets in, he's top 3%... can hold head up :imcool:

Verysuperkiasu, I read that your son is successful in his application for NUSH too. So will he be choosing RI or NUSH?

He is actually quite torn between the two. He enjoys Math and Science, though not particularly crazy over them. But he's worried when he heard about the 'high contribution' NUSH expect from students. He is not the creative sort. If RI accepts him, most likely he'll choose RI. šŸ˜„

Good luck! I hope your son gets his wish of getting into RI.

anyone know if RI will be taking in students under sports domain for the supplementary intake? or is it reserved for those who have high scores but accept DSA somewhere or those who just missed by a couple of marks?

I thought taking in students via sports domain already done at dsa stage? On the other thread 'psle discussion', it's been mentioned that MOE is very strict about not allowing students who got confirmed places via dsa at other schools to appeal at RI or other schools. So I don't think the supp intake is reserved for that.

Think it's for those who missed by a couple of marks and waiting for students in that school to exit/withdraw.

Yes in recent past years, bulk of supplementary exercise for RI is for transfer/appeal cases for boys who already accepted CO from another school. And small balance for sports etc. However, this year looks like most IPs align it to be more strictly for those appealing after PSLE posting. In fact, a fren with P6 DD alerted that RGS supp exercise this year specify must state strong reasons and attach evidence for those accepted DSA elsewhere and want to transfer to RGS.
