:thankyou:
Good luck! I hope your son gets his wish of getting into RI. -
anyone know if RI will be taking in students under sports domain for the supplementary intake? or is it reserved for those who have high scores but accept DSA somewhere or those who just missed by a couple of marks?

I thought taking in students via sports domain already done at dsa stage? On the other thread 'psle discussion', it's been mentioned that MOE is very strict about not allowing students who got confirmed places via dsa at other schools to appeal at RI or other schools. So I don't think the supp intake is reserved for that. -
Thanks for clarifying. Then do u have any idea what the supplementary intake for most schools are for?

Think it's for those who missed by a couple of marks and waiting for students in that school to exit/withdraw. -
Verysuperkiasu:
Yes in recent past years, bulk of supplementary exercise for RI is for transfer/appeal cases for boys who already accepted CO from another school. And small balance for sports etc. However, this year looks like most IPs align it to be more strictly for those appealing after PSLE posting. In fact, a fren with P6 DD alerted that RGS supp exercise this year specify must state strong reasons and attach evidence for those accepted DSA elsewhere and want to transfer to RGS.South African:

I am comparing RI and NUS High…
Heard that Nus High students, being affiliated to NUS, will get priority to enter NUS So say, for eg, if 2 students, 1 from RI, 1 from NUS High have the same results, and there is only one vacancy left in NUS, then they’ll take the NUS high student right? -

one is taking A level, one is taking NUSH diploma, how to be the same for comparison? -

ok... nvm. Will an RI 'A' level graduate have an equal chance to compete with someone from NUS High to get into NUS?

The NUSH cohort is very small and they are selective for special talents in Math n Science. NUSH and RI are quite different schools. But even a neighbourhood JC kid has chance for NUS if he/she does very well.

Please refer to NUS High thread in KSP page 100 for stats on which unis the class of NUS High 2010 went to. A forummer provided stats and said >50% of NUS High kids go NUS, mostly Science and Accountancy and some in Engineering. 8 went NUS Medicine (10 offered). Not bad for a small cohort.
Raffles family take up half of NUS Medicine vacancies and probably Law too (not sure) but RIJC cohort ard 1200. So better to compare a kid who's say top x% of NUSH and a kid who's same top x% in RI. No available stats comparing but I guess if you are top % in either institution should be very well sought after. So ultimately depends on your kid's performance in respective institution.
