The water polo coach loves left handed players because they have the some advantages when playing as a left wing attacker. If u DS is good at swimming then more than 1/2 the problem already settled.ycpang:
Wow ycpang, thanks for info. I know this may not be related but my boy is left handed AND not so good with ball games. But he is pretty ok with swimming part. Will left handedness hinder ball catching or throwing etc???
Also, he signed up for Language Elective Pgm. We don't knw if he got a place n which days for LEP at the moment. But if lessons clash with H2Opolo, will the coach be OK???? Thks ycpang.
The clash in timings is very common as the students have many other commitments, eg 3rd Lang, AEP, MEP, private tuitions, council meetings (if they are a councilor), project meetings etc etc. So far so good that they all workout well for my DS although he has to miss some trainings now and then due to other more important commitments (need to get excuse from the cca teacher in charge). My advice is u don't have to worry about clash in timing at the moment since you can't do much about it as you don't know which day is the AEP and which CCA u wil get into.
If I'm not wrong, 3rd lang is on Thurs, so if a Water Polo member takes a 3rd lang, does he miss Thurs training everytime?
I supposed those taking 3rd Lang on Thurs can makeup the training by joining the B division (sec 3 & 4) on either Monday or Wednesday. -

Exclude transportation...
Exclude transportation $10 seems a lot. I am looking at $5-$6 a day: $2 for teabreak and $3 for lunch. Should encourage kid to drink more water instead of spending $$ on cold drinks.
$5 a day works out to be $25 a week. Round up to $30 a week in case of emergency and some savings. What do you think, enough??? -

Thanks, ycpang.
1) The lockers are inside the classroom. There aren't enough lockers for everyone so 2 to 3 persons have to share one locker. Some of them don't use locker at all. My DS is one of them.joe0599:
Hi
I would like to check:
1) Does the school provide locker? How its allocated?
2) We will just discussing with our DS on pocket money, he was asking for $10/day, I thought it is too much, how much you all give to your DS per day?
3) Are all the classroom aircon?
TIA
2) They won't need to spend $10 per day (meals & mis. expenses) but good to have some spare money in case they need to stay back late for dinner or for emergency used. I would say in actual they probably need at least $6 to $7 per day for their breakfast and lunch + drinks.
3) only sec 3 and 4 classrooms are air-con.
2 or 3 persons shared a locker? What happens someone lost something? I guess their textbooks or stuffs are not as much or their school bag will not be as heavy as primary school...do they need to bring laptop to school daily?
Daily $6 or $7 pocket money seem about right....beside school fees, are there any other fees that we must pay in their course of study eg special course, CCA etc. -

Not that I'm getting one for him, as my DS is very careless and loses things.

This may help. http://hscse.wiki.hci.edu.sg/Intro-EntryReq2hci_2011:
Hi dear parents and seniors, my ds next year S1 and he is very keen to join Electronics, Communications & Computer Club (EC 3) as his CCA. May I know what is the requirements? He was a IT club member in his primary school from p3-p6 and awarded most valued member this year. His team also got silver of a nation primary school media competition this year. I would also like to know, does Electronics, Communications & Computer Club (EC 3) members will have chances to have competition national/international?
Btw, what is the requirements to join smtp?
Thanks a lot!!! -
Anyone know whether the humunities programme Bicultural Studies programme are open to all student? If no, how they select the student? Are both programmes starting from sec 1?

What CCA is your DS interested in? -
joe0599:
I heard nowadays is CCA choosing kid, not kid choosing CCA. Supposed need to \"audition\" for a few CCAs and see which one(s) pick you before deciding.
