Hi tankee,

Yah! I was also wondering what is adjustable seatbelt?? If what you show is that, does it mean if I adjust to right bottom, then ds can use it with no issues with traffic police??

Then I’m also wondering, if I put ds2 in the back middle seat with the strap across seatbelt which is ‘adjusted’ also, it’s ok??

Thk its quite duh to get booster now when ds1 is already on seatbelt!

            From the press release...
The change, which kicks in on Jan 1 but will only be enforced from February, affects anyone below 1.35m tall - even adults.
The booster seat not only adjusts the shoulder strap to the right place, it places the bottom strap on the right part of the child's body, which is across the top of the thighs. When they are small, the abdomen is not as well developed. If you strap them in without the booster, the belt will go over their tummy. In the event of an accident, serious internal injuries could happen. So even if you use an adjustable seat belt and the shoulder strap is in the right place (quite unlikely for a child as these straps cater to adults) you will still have a problem with the lower belt.

For your children's safety, please consider getting a safe seat. Not all seats are safe. Check out http://www.iihs.org/research/topics/boosters/default.html for a review of seats.

haha… I’m fortunate in that sense that while browsing ebay 2 weeks ago. I saw 2 used booster seats for sale at $25 each. Just went ahead and deal. My twins are 2 and a half yrs now. A little kiasu but this time it pays well:) Those hunting for affordable booster seat can hunt online;)

Actually I hve 2 seats already. I just don't hve a 3rd one n to be honest, I go by the motto:-

'Its safer to be in the 1st n 2nd row buckled up with the car seatbelts them hvg a child seat in the 3rd row' because in an accident, the pple in the 3rd row of a MPV will be the 1st to die - you can't control the crazy pple who bang u from behind but can control the way u drive from the front n side.

Doesn't apply to cabbies... Just cannot sit in front.
