This is way too difficult for her. Try her on the P5 and P6 model compos from Popular. Go REAL easy!! Actually, I am thinking of running a 3 hour session at home to teach parents of little P2-ers how to do this without stressing out their kids unduly.Chenonceau:
Every year, PRC publishers collate a new compendium. You don't have to get exactly this. You can get the newest compendium instead. Mine is the 2010 one.
Hi Chenonceau,
Just wondering from where to purchase or order this PRC publishers compendium you have mentioned.
My DD is going to P2, but like all Kiasu Parent just trying to work out to source the best materials for her.
Thanks in advance
You guys have time so this can be more fun.
Attendance is child-parent pair. I can only handle at most 5 pairs at a time. Those who are game, please PM me. This service is free, but we must work around my availability. -
Chenonceau:
Ummm... Class is full. No more vacancies.mother777:

you know being a kiasu parent, its not easy to avoid temptation of buying books for future use :?: :please: -
mother777:
Ummm... you were the last one in... so are you still interested? If not, there is one more place.

For book... the publishers collate one every year. Why don't you wait and get the 2014 one when your DD is in P4?
You can get from dang dang, the Chinese online book shop. There is something called Peeka too. I bought from dang dang before and got them to send to a friend in China. It seems that if you have an overseas address, they cheat you or something... I'm not the best person to ask because I ask others to shop for me. I dunno enough Chinese to shop on a PRC website.
For those who signed up, it's just an informal Mommy gathering where I guide you in the same way as I did here... http://www.petunialee.blogspot.com/2011/12/as-little-boy.html.
So, it's a relax... relax sorta thing. No stress for me. :hugs:
It is only useful if you intend to teach your child. If you outsource to tutor, then this isn't for you. I also can't read Mandarin. I speak and write French. -
Chenonceau:
well, I do have a tutor for my DD as I worry I wont be able to do justice to her..

But do make her do chinese assessment books or read + write compos from compo books which I buy for her.
I print the past year question papers and make her do it, but outsource the marking to tuition teacher (home tutor)
so far my DD is doing good. her tutor who is from china says her memory is good and she can score A* if she continues the way she is doing now. Just hope my DD will do well..long time to go to PSLE
about buying the compendium of compos, it looks difficult for me to order from dangdang as I cannot read mandarin :stupid:
I would really luv to attend the parent-child session. it will give a good insight to my DD about other kids..who are also working hard towards a good PSLE score.
Pls do advise me if you can let me join the session -

Thank you so much. will wait for further information from your side. Hope its a weekend event for us to join :snuggles: -
I always bring my boys to library during school holidays. In the past few years, I could not find any interesting chinese story books for them to read. And because of that ds1 does not have the habit of reading chinese story books. In fact i have a hard time to get him to read now even though it is the school assignment. To him chinese book is always not interesting. Very sad.
But this year when we visited the lib during the holidays, I could find so many interesting chinese story books for ds2. Ds2 has read many in this holidays. I am happy. Hopefully he will have the habit of reading chinese books now. Do visit the library and start borrowing chinese storybooks.

There is a minimum of I dunno what for both English and Chinese. But if you stay with minimum word count will sure fail.
For Chinese, target 630 squares X 2 pages (inclusive punctuation).
