So of the 15 express students selected for the accelerated programme, how many ended up in IP in year 3 ?
Haha, yes, snow crystal. There are 144 IP students in secondary 2 this yr. To join the ACS (Accelerated class of Science), students must opt to do triple science and double maths in Secondary 3. I am quite sure there are Sec 2 IP students who meet the criteria but did not take the selection tests for the ACS because they have chosen a different subject combination.
Students from IP and express take different papers for almost all subjects. I have not seen express exam papers so I am not able to compare. A lower cut-off criteria to be used for IP did cross my mind, however, i didnt probe further.
The physics dean did share candidly that more express students are selected because many of them worked hard in order to be selected for IP in sec 3.

Thanks, Breezy. Will check website on the 30th.
Ngbrdad, we bought the tie for DS2. And badges as well. Thot it wd be good to have a spare one. DS1’s school practises giving demerit points if they forget theirs.
Blurdad, it is more likely that yr DS’s feet outgrow the shoe size within the year. That happened to my DS1. Puberty. Everything shrinks except his body mass. -

All 15 are in IP next yr. They will be in one class, with the ASEAN scholars.

We bought the tie and badge from the school coop, where you buy the starter kit.
Went back to change books coz we bought the wrong ones, (IP instead of express) and history books are already out of stock

Thanks for the infor. Do you think that ACSI IB is more suitable for boys who are more into humanities and love to write? Are ACSI IB boys taking triple Science plus double Math the minority? In other IPs, such subject combi is very popular and common.

Thanks Breezy for your sharing. Really appreciate it. One more question - i notice the ACSI express pays $280 and ACS IB pays $300/- It is only $20 is different. So how different is the ACSI express from the mainstream (non independent express) that warrants such high fees? Are the ACSI express students eligible for the elective programmes or \"leadership training\" etc that's part of the IB programme? I am keen to know what I am paying for.
