anyone has appealed to Bukit Batok-222 and Hua Yi-220 and has gotten feedback already?
-
if you have appealed to Hua Yi or Bukit Batok and has gotten feedback from them (whether successful or not), appreciate if you could share the feedback.
1) child’s t-score
2) appeal based on cca or merit
3) when was the call or email gotten -

One thing about Bukit Batok. When it comes 2 appealing they r very strict. They only allow appeals that have medical conditions or shifted their house. (read that in thier booklet) -

I think you are right. Up till now, based on my friends' experience (past years), no one has appealed successfully to BBSS. Having said so, when the medical conditions persons has run out and there are still vacancies, they must have a criteria to fill the remaining places right? THey will not be leaving the places blank.... :sad:33mama:

1. 257 +2Hi! Those who have appealed to a school , could you please write down the following in this forum:
1) Your child's agg score and HCL points if they have
2) The school(s) your child appealed to
3) The CCA your child applied with(if any)
4) Did you go for auditions/interviews/sports trials etc.
5) Was the appeal succesful or unsuccessful?
6) When did they notify you?
Thanks in advance. Did this forum so that parents would know how their children chances are of getting into the school via appeal.
2. RGS, NUS High
3. well the schools i appealled to did not have an option to appeal through things like academics or CCA?
4. I went for RGS' DSA, passed the GAT, but i had to miss the Mathematics test as the date clashed with NUS High's DSA Camp. As for NUS High, I attended the NUS High DSA Camp (I passed the maths & science tests) , but i failed to get in through DSA, applied for the post-PSLE one, purely based on your aggregate, and I failed, and now i'm appealling to NUS High.
5. For RGS, i think the results were released today? some of my friends got emails/calls that their appeal was successful, but i did not get any. My friend said that last year her batchmate also appealled to RGS but did not get a reply and she asked RGS, they said that if you did not get anything it means you're not accepted, so i guess i'm not accepted?
For NUS High, it's really different from RGS, since RGS has an online form and specific topics to write about the personal statement and it has instructions on their website. NUS High did not state on their website that you could appeal. My mother sent an email to ask if I could appeal. After that I just wrote a personal statement, and went there. They asked for the appeal letter and my PSLE result slip (not the cert). They asked for other things as well i don't remember that well (idk if they did, but my mum was really being on the safe side she brought my whole file of certs) , but i have DSA-ed and gone through the post-PSLE, so they should have my certs/other things so that's what my mum told her. Today, they called my father and emailed that I was selected to go for an interview which is tomorrow.
6. RGS, they did not notify me, but my friends/others got notified today that they were selected. NUS High, they notified that I have to go for an interview tomorrow. (that doesn't mean i'm getting in there 100%... so i'll still have to wait for a day or more for a finalised one?)
oh, and just fyi, and i have a sister in NUS High.
i'm being very very honest here and this is just my opinion.
i think RGS' administrating is not very good, and my father went there to pay for the appeal fee and bring some other things that they needed, and last minute, they told him that they needed my 6 choices form or the printscreen for internet posting. my father said that it was not stated in the website, not even the confirmation page after you sent your application for appeal. another thing is that i think RGS not that strict on appeals? i may be wrong though. one reason is that my friend who got lower than 250 was successful, and she's in band, has not much achievements for academic, but she has a sister in RGS. I think you have a much higher chance for the school you're appealing to if you have a sister there. I have edusave awards, art awards, UNSW, other olympiads and academic achievements, but i was rejected by RGS. another thing is that RGS is strong in Rhythmic Gymnastics and I'm in my school team. It's either you have a sister there, or you are REALLY REALLY REALLY good in your CCA, or you aggregate is one to two points away, I think it's hard to get into RGS via appeal, tbh, so i suggest you appeal for other schools and save your appeal fee.....
