Anyone know whether the humunities programme Bicultural Studies programme are open to all student? If no, how they select the student? Are both programmes starting from sec 1?

My DS is interested in NCC, shooting and Youth Flying Club, anyone DS is in it? How is the schedule/trainning like?

Exclude transportation $10 seems a lot. I am looking at $5-$6 a day: $2 for teabreak and $3 for lunch. Should encourage kid to drink more water instead of spending $$ on cold drinks.

$5 a day works out to be $25 a week. Round up to $30 a week in case of emergency and some savings. What do you think, enough???

$5~$6 is about right...we are looking at around $7...we also dont encourage him to drink soft/sugar drink...we will still want him to bring his water bottle to school...hope its not too weird for him...do sec students still carry water bottle nowsaday??

Yes, I heard the boys like those sports type bottle, esp. the branded ones šŸ˜‰ Not that I'm getting one for him, as my DS is very careless and loses things.[/quote]Pen88n

What CCA is your DS interested in?

I heard nowadays is CCA choosing kid, not kid choosing CCA. Supposed need to \"audition\" for a few CCAs and see which one(s) pick you before deciding.

Chandelier, I think the 3 novels are for Sec 1. Not sure the duration to cover per book. In this case, they prob will not cover any Shakepeare titles in Sec 1, I guess. If they do, they would prob have listed it in the booklist. Maybe 1 book 1 term ? (just a guess) Anybody with a more definite answer ??

                :thankyou:

I have never heard of this. May I know where did u hear it from? Is the $3.00 per entry? Or per month? Or one off? I hope they understand that If parents think the fee is not reasonable, everyone will drop their kids along bukit timah road, it is going to worsen the traffic condition.

If it is one-off reg fee, and it helps to identify \"unauthorized\" entries then I think it is acceptable.

With the car decal, does it mean we can drive into any part of the school compound like the college section or thru the clock tower as well ? For the few occasions we went HCI, daddy can only drive into the car park next to the swmming pool ( gate 3 i think )

$3 PER ENTRY ?? wah … .everyday $3 expensive huh? hope it is a one off. BUT then again … what if … IIF … the driver passes the car decal to another person ? sorry … just imagining.

It is just one-off for identification purpose. They should have given your son the form in the beginning of Sec 1 year. You can always get the form again from General Office.
