Good morning, need to purchase school shoes for DS today as will be away next few days. Can anyone confirm if white track shoes with coloured strips etc (adidxx, Nixx) is allowed for sec 1 students or should we buy all white track shoes only. Thanks!

yes, and should have a sleeping bag preferably

Inside the RI file given to us on registration day, it's stated somewhere white based track shoes, I suppose background colour white, but can have coloured strips. I've seen some of the senior boys wearing coloured strips shoes also.

Was actually at RI in the morning to submit HMT form (office called me yesterday and say not taking also must submit). Went to Popular RI to see if PE shorts are in. Was told will arrive by this Friday.


Then, on the way back, Leadway (supplier of PE attire) called to say the PE shorts will be in after 3pm. :stompfeet: Now I got to go back tmr to get PE shorts. If I've only known, should have waited till afternoon then go submit my form to save me the trip.

So, if you didn't manage to get PE attire like me (out of stock during registration day), you can do so tmr.

Actually I am curious - how many of your ds are not taking HMT? Feel like ds is the only one not taking.

super large majority taking HMT unless they are exempted for whatever valid reasons

last year I counted it was some where around 20s (cannot remember liao) out of 452 not taking HMT

for those taking HMT, they will sit for O level MT at the end of sec 3, and O level HMT at end of sec 4

if the clear this, they don't need to touch MT in year 5/6; free up the MT time slots for other activities

anyway MT is only a requirement for local uni admission criteria, not that it has any use in uni unless one is doing MT languages in uni

20/450+ not taking HMT only?! So few! Wonder the figure is lower this year? The clerk seemed surprise when I say ds not taking HMT. Chinese is his weakest. I don't want to tax him. Furthermore, he'll have 7 other subjects to juggle with. He wont be at any disadvantage rite? Like u said, it's just a requirement to enter U. Would HMT have any advantage over normal Chinese in gaining entrance to U? Not like PSLE, got merit points?

My DS and I went for a trial run to take public transport to school this morning. We went to the bookshop to buy shorts but were told the shorts may arrive after 2pm. I reserved 2 shorts and they said they would call me. But didn't. Will call tmr to confrim for DH to pick up.
