Can anyone comment on their LP’s IP programme on English? What do they do for each lesson?

Hi Firefly,
Ya, no need to print for Japanese.. DS uses Textbooks and Workbooks only.. The notes has been bound into booklets and given to the boys on the first lesson..Paddy Field:
Hi Firefly,
Yes u r right .. He had to print the weekly lessons plus hw sheet n any other notes for French. Jap no need at all? So good. N now teacher has to sent via email cos e portal is always down, n they said they r shutting it down. Dunno how true though.
How is your DS coping this year? Year-2 seems more hectic and busy, but DS still spends a lot of time on FB, You-tube, games etc.. So he sleeps around 11+ (sometimes 12+, even 1+) every night.. :scared:
My DS is the lazy type who does minimal .. so at times u can find him lazing around using his iphone or ipad playing games. We try to enforce habit of early nights .. latest by 11. -

You have to check MOELC website at least 2 days before the 3rd lang class. They download all worksheets via softcopy. Prepare to print out 15 pages.
the class conducted in Newton right? the teacher is muscular man, old lady or young lady?
Pupils need to download and print notes in advance for French, I think.. Am i right, Paddy? DS doesn't need to do so for Japanese Lang.. Not sure about German though..
Hi Firefly,

Dear naggo, firefly n KSmom,
Thank you for the confirmation. My DS was just curious as to why third Lang teachers did not tell the class anything. There are so many petite test, intermediate tasks n final tasks plus big test n final exam .. He did not question last yr but guess he's now curious n wanted to find out. N being forgetful, he always forget to check w his teacher.
He's taking French .. N looks like not many taking French, but a lot in jap n German. Anyway, thanks for all e sharing. Appreciated!

Hi naggo-nitemare,
Thank you. My DS told me there is scope of work but there was no marks weightage like e other subjects. He has taken tests n projects but we do not know what are e weightage in those.
Just wondering if it is e same for other third lang.naggo-nitemare:
I recall being verbally told the mid-yr results. Only the year-end report includes the German marks, for RI's case.
No one can assist me in the third Lang questions I have??
Regarding scope of work , the students should know better than us parents. Perhaps, ur DS can email his MOELC teacher to clarify? I will be surprised if this is not provided to the students, like for the other school subjects.
AndPaddy Field:
Since we are in the topic of third language, I would like to check a few questions with parents whose DS is/are taking third language at MOELC.
1) Did any of your DS get their mid year results for Yr 1 last year? Especially for those boys taking German and Japanese.
2) was there a scope of work given out since beginning of year (something similar to what RI gives out every year where we know which piece of work is graded and what percentage they are worth)?
Thanks! -

1. The presentation will be on 6th January, whereas the investiture will be on 9th January.
Hi syshi,Paddy Field:
Got few queries, hope can help:
1. Can share whether for those have not went through Rafflesian Investiture (Y1 2013), will DS wear the plain Raffles uniform (without badge and tie) to the Edusave award presentation? or wear back the Primary school uniform?
2. will AEP/MEP schedule clashed with 3rd Language schedule? If yes, which to drop (AEP/MEP or 3rd Language)?
1) I believe you wear your primary school uniform. When is the presentation?
2) AEP/MEP will most likely crash with third Lang. My DS was interested in AEP, but due to timing conflict, he chose third Lang. As to which to drop, you'll have to check with your DS which he prefers.
Hope that helps.
So mean that still wear the Primary uniform, instead of the RI's full white (without badge & tie)..
2. Thought for AEP just need to take up merit CCA of Visual Art or Photography? Will those both crashed on Tue 3rd lang schedule?
AEP is a subject itself. Nothing to do with CCA. But it is compulsory (i think) for those in AEP to join photography club. It will clash ultimately. School does not encourage pupils to take up both. It's either one. P said that herself -
