Some students fail to thrive on Integrated Programme scheme

I think it takes someone who has a strong sense of determination to succeed and the ability to manage time well to do it. Plus a gift in athleticism. All this managed without parental supervision. So no, I don't think it's something many people can do.jtoh:
ksi, you're amazing! Thanks for sharing your side of the story.

jtoh, to be honest, I think many people can do it but they may not know it. I am as ordinary and common as slice bread.

Chenonceau:
:snuggles: Chenon
:snuggles: So humble. You deserve the praise. I've always wished I had had the opportunity to do sports competitively. My mom believed it was not ladylike to do too much sports and I never got to do so much of it. It's wonderful that you did both study and sport well. I want that for my kids too.
Actually your mum was not wrong, I was very tom-boy then!! dark and skinny in my mum's eyes....and she could not stop nagging at my disposition then. I spent so much time under the sun that my skin was charcoal black...not a joke.
My mum angst over this matter for a long time and was relieved when I eventually got married. :rotflmao:
I am sure your kids are performing much better and well-achieved than I was back then as standards have gone up. So don't worry too much. -

Must Ask My Gal to Read your Post - U R A Really Inspiring Good Role Model!

On her own, your dd is already a role model herself from what I have read of her, kudos to you!
Cannot take the Credit ....
Must say 90% My Gal's Effort ....
As I always Say, She sweat it out, I Pig-ed myself Out (While Accompanying her)!
But Your Success is Another Facet of Scrambling Sports/Studies in Sec Sch ....

During those days...lower sec still blur and goon type...unlike kids today. From a teenager's view then, I only knew that I was enjoying what I was doing as I loved the sun and sweat then(now don't ask me hor) and was very playful....better than being in the classroom...hahaha... now you see the delinquence in me!ksi:

Glad that your dd has found the balance and enjoying every moment of schooling life. It was probably easy for me then cos everything back then seemed easier but in today's context, your dd and Chenon's dd have it harder and yet they cope well....I have to ask my dd to look up to them as role models instead under 20xx conditions!

Looking4Tutor......this one hor I can write into a book with volumes..... maybe you read the one ้ฃไบๅนด, ๆๅไธ่ตท่ฟฝ็ๅฅณๅญฉ by ไนๆๅ ๏ผGiddons Ko๏ผ or the movie........it was as fun and as distracting as that.... Notice the girl's result slided by the time she went for the uni entrance exam?..... haha....that probably is a trend if no one guides the BGR process.... So you think I worry about CCA or BGR?
Wow, it is great to hear from someone who had being there and done it. But, hor, can expand the BGR story or not?looking4Tutor:

Ironically, the thing that caused my studies to show any warning signs of falter was never the hectic schedule during my school-life between CCA and studies but it was the complexities of BGR during my 'A' levels. :rotflmao: So now as a parent, I am eye-balling this more than time spent on CCA.
PS: I heard the book is better, more characters hence more complexities, I saw the movie version only, too expensive to produce with too many characters but it ended up as a blockbuster overtaking Harry Porter and many others.[/quote]Maybe, i'll ask my ds to read it. I'm really concern of the new frontier of cyber BGR brought about by Facebook and sms. Can't believe what i incidentally read in my ds facebook - words like hug-hug, nite love; really sent me to a culture shock. Now I'm at a lost of how to help him deal with cyber infatuation with some girl-girl out there in the cyber world (btw some are from rgps, nyps - could be your dd hor) -
Would BGR issue more prevalent in a mix sch than a single sex sch? Or simply no correlations at all?

Now I getting curious. What sport is that? Does it start with the letter \"A\"?
I missed 3-4 MONTHS of lessons DAILY (with all my teachers scolding and cursing me for doing so) and trained full days on weekends ... In fact after training, I had to return home to spend at least an hour to prepare the items for next day's training..ksi:
:rahrah: :salute: :udawoman:we wanted to win the gold trophy to glorify our school and we DID! I am sharing this experience as an alternative view that sometimes we may not know what magic such schedule can do for us. When pushed to our limits, the unknown side of us surfaced. I actually got to know myself better in that year and I never fell sick throughout the ordeal. The lesson I derived from this experience was priceless and left indelible memories of my best days in school.
Agree fully. Those days, not everything was about academic excellence.ksi:
