In our case, DH and I have already spoken to DD.

We have no intention to put her through tuition.
She will have to learn to be independent and cope on her own.
I guess we will monitor the situation and provide external help only when it is absolutely necessary. šŸ˜„

Hi MummySTay, we did exactly the same thing as you (DD had no tuition anyway at pri school except for MT). Though i was a bit concerned whether DD cld cope w/o enrichment for MT as she will be taking HCL at RGS but we will monitor situation as we go along.

Glad to find a mummy like you who is not really into the idea of tuition unless nec. DH said he will find it ironical that DD made it to a top school and ye needs tuition to cope - but that's just his opinion lah šŸ™‚

My husband told my daughter the same thing just yesterday - no tuition unless definitely necessary. So far, we have helped her at home ourselves when she needs help, but she mostly copes on her own. The only unknown is CL. That is probably the one tuition that she will need as I can't help, and my husband will be too busy.
so happy to find like-minded mummies here šŸ™‚

Hi! Same here, no tuition for my kids. My boy will be in RI yr3, HCL result not fantastic. But he said no point taking tuition, knowing that he's going to drop the subject in 1.5yrs 🤷 My girl took HCL tuition only for PSLE. Now also not considering tuition for sec 1 HCL šŸ˜„

Most of the Raffles students are only hoping for a decent pass in HCL, very few people want to ace it. So not many taking tuition for HCL unless they are desperate for a pass in Yr 4.

Just a few more days before the school starts :rahrah:

Want to find out more about the traffic condition around RGS...
I assume there will be heavy traffic around the school. There're two routes that I can take. First one is Dunearn Rd, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There're NYGH, NJC and RGPS crowds on this route. Second choice is through PIE, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There is the SJI jam on this one.

Can anyone advice me on the choice of route and timing? Thanks šŸ˜‰

If you're coming down Dunearn Road, stick to the rightmost lane and you should be fine. The jam is usually on the innermost to middle lane because of cars wanting to turn into the schools and Adam Road.
