Hi! Same here, no tuition for my kids. My boy will be in RI yr3, HCL result not fantastic. But he said no point taking tuition, knowing that he's going to drop the subject in 1.5yrs
My girl took HCL tuition only for PSLE. Now also not considering tuition for sec 1 HCL
Hi Soda,
Is your DD going to be in RGS year 1 next year as well?
Yes MummySTay

If you're coming down Dunearn Road, stick to the rightmost lane and you should be fine. The jam is usually on the innermost to middle lane because of cars wanting to turn into the schools and Adam Road.Just a few more days before the school starts :rahrah:
Want to find out more about the traffic condition around RGS...
I assume there will be heavy traffic around the school. There're two routes that I can take. First one is Dunearn Rd, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There're NYGH, NJC and RGPS crowds on this route. Second choice is through PIE, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There is the SJI jam on this one.
Can anyone advice me on the choice of route and timing? Thanks

If my Dad sends me to school in the morning, he'll go through Stevens-PIE. The jam shouldn't be too bad. I leave the house around 637-638 (yes, I go by the minute, because say if it were like 641 I'll take 10 mins longer on the journeyJust a few more days before the school starts :rahrah:

) and reach school by 7. And I live so far that if you take the MRT the nearest station is Pioneer (which is second last stop on the East-West line) . So I'd say that the traffic condition is okay. And I would suggest that the student eats in the car or eats breakfast in school, because each minute will cause an exponential increase in the number of cars in the jam. I usually reach school at 7, but if I were five minutes late on the car, I'll be in school at around 715-720, just in time for school.
Also, for the first few days, do note that the jam will be exceptionally bad, so you gotta be in the car much earlier (well my definition of much in the morning is a few minutes  ) -
Just went back to school, saw the new banner for next year! Looks like the theme for next year is: Set hearts ablazed. Or something like that:)

Most of the Raffles students are only hoping for a decent pass in HCL, very few people want to ace it. So not many taking tuition for HCL unless they are desperate for a pass in Yr 4.
I must say that HCL is very important and it is good to try and get 3.6 in it. Think about it...if you get a 2.4 in HCL, you'll need to get more 4.0s in other things to pull it up and I must warn you all that pulling dead weight for one subject is not a very enjoyable thing
But RGS Chinese is super easy!
Not much homework too.
