Just went back to school, saw the new banner for next year! Looks like the theme for next year is: Set hearts ablazed. Or something like that:)

Isn't it Our Hearts Ablaze? Sorry but that's what the email said last month. šŸ™‚

Aiya cannot remember. But since ur a PIT you must be correct. Sounds nicer than ours.

Most of the Raffles students are only hoping for a decent pass in HCL, very few people want to ace it. So not many taking tuition for HCL unless they are desperate for a pass in Yr 4.

I must say that HCL is very important and it is good to try and get 3.6 in it. Think about it...if you get a 2.4 in HCL, you'll need to get more 4.0s in other things to pull it up and I must warn you all that pulling dead weight for one subject is not a very enjoyable thing

But RGS Chinese is super easy! šŸ˜„ Not much homework too.

Just a few more days before the school starts :rahrah:

Want to find out more about the traffic condition around RGS...
I assume there will be heavy traffic around the school. There're two routes that I can take. First one is Dunearn Rd, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There're NYGH, NJC and RGPS crowds on this route. Second choice is through PIE, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There is the SJI jam on this one.

Can anyone advice me on the choice of route and timing? Thanks šŸ˜‰
I avoid all morning traffic by arriving in sch super early. Pupils are advised to be in by 7.10, assembly is at 7.20 (correct me if I'm wrong). However I'm always at the school gate around 6.40 AM latest. šŸ™‚ No jams at all then. If you travel on CTE any later than 6.50 there's going to be a terrible jam.

I take Dunearn Rd, Stevens Rd then Anderson Rd. There really isn't much jam especially if you start out really early like me. There is actually not much traffic around the school on most days as RGS girls arrive in 'shifts'. A group arrives super early like me, then a larger number arrive about 6.50 to 7, then the last group usually comes right before assembly (7.10).

Being early is a very good idea in my opinion because 1) The roads aren't all congested and bright 2) You get some quiet time in the classroom for about 5 minutes before everyone pours in 3) You will never ever be late, even if a tree collapses or something (happened to me!) šŸ˜„

What time do school buses come in to the school usually? Do they all come in at the same time? On the first day of school, since Y2-4s arent on the school bus, will the pick-up time be earlier than the usual that the bus drivers tell us?

Anyone with experience, pls help! šŸ™‚

              TIA

School buses usually reach around 6.50-7.05. Usually they arrive around that time.

I remember on the first day of sch the driver got lost, as in he couldn't find where one of the students was so we drove around a lot and was almost late. I would say maybe go slightly earlier? Just in case he can't find you, you can contact him on time. If not should be around same time to reach sch, 6.50-7. Might be even earlier, since there's not many to fetch.

Maybe I wasn't clear, I am talking about HCL O level results as a requirement for exemption of MT in years 5 & 6, not GPA thru the 4 yrs. Of course generally the higher the GPA the better!
