      .........

So what have u decided Carebear - going to submit SSt as choice or not. I m not sure, after the tough maths paper, worried how the results may turn out. Is it a better bet to secure the place and IF the PSLE results are very good, go and look for a transfer. SIGH - tough choice 😢 šŸ™
My son will definitely choose SST.
Mention the word SST and his face will light up.
If you have secured a place with SST, it would be difficult for you to look for a transfer later.

Great - so your choice is clear! Congrats - I am sure ur boy will b successful in getting in.

Yes transfer will be difficult but some of the ppl have managed to get transferred - provided PSLE score is super great ....

          Hi to all,

          SST has a GOOD TEAM.

SST's talk was very impressive & informative.........GOOD INSTITUTION!!

However, SST's training \"University-bound Students\" via the Ngee Ann Polytechnic route (Applied Subjects)............very tough route into TOP UNIs..............How to score straight As for \"O\" Level(& go to Top JCs)???

My son loves SST but unfortunately hv to put as 2nd choice (as per Princi, VP, HODs & FT advices).

Very difficult choice indeed but what to do???? SON....... we r sorry this time! Pls understand our dilemma................your future!!

          Kind rgds!

              Hi Harini,

              Many thanks.
Actually, as parents we also like SST (Best Choice).
How wonderful if SST has IP?
All the Educators & friends hv advised that via the \"Through Train\" is best for my son.

              Tough decision!!

              Warmest Rgds!!

Hi all. Did not log on for quite a few days cos we were on short vacation to \"recuperate\" from the PSLE stress, although we were back in time to attend the talk.

I agree that the Principal and Vice-Principal were very impressive and convincing.

Well, today is D-day where the kids will be given the option form. I don't think we need to think any more. My son made up his mind long ago, although I did warn him about the travel distance. It's a long way as we stay in the East. We tried taking the MRT on Saturday to see how long it would take him to go to school. All in, about 1.5 hours. :!: :scared: I only hope that he doesn't fall asleep and end up at Joo Koon station. :faint:

Harini: have you decided to choose SST?

I will have to wait till PSLE results are out before knowing the outcome, since on waiting list.
I also stay in the east.
Dunno whether will there be school bus.
If not, then maybe car pool?

                    Hi kuzco,

Making up our decision. I am soooo impressed by u and carebear, who live in the East and would like to send ur kids here to the west - hats off :ugogirl:

I live quite close to SST, so travelling time shld b minimal. Still just undecided if this would b what my son wld be interested in for the next 4 yrs. He loves science, but applied science - we r not so sure (my son including...) Wish me good luck in making the right decision.

Hope to join u guys in the SST parents forum :celebrate: ...

I read from other threads that ur boy has a confirmed place in SJI. Is that your first choice school then ?? Do they have an IP yet ??

                        Hi Harini,

My son did not apply for SJI DSA but we went for the SJI OPEN House.
Very impressed by Assoc.Prof Koh Thiam Seng (SJI's New Principal).
However, after last Sat.'s SST Classroom experience, my son's very keen on SST ( Good Team).
Now the difficult part is to select the RIGHT CHOICE for him before this Fri 3pm.
                        *DSA: SST or NJC

*Options (after PSLE result) : 1) SJI or others

*Chinese Teacher's Advice: HCI or RVHS (Son's also good in Chinese)

*Princi, VP, HOD, FT Advice: MUST GO FOR NJC I.P. (Why take \"O\" Levels?)

SST's the Best for Applied Learning (GOOD & NEW INSTITUTION). Only 200 students, small classes plus, plus, plus .......................!!

It concerns his future and we are really in a dilemma (just like the rest).

                        Also can't \"tikam-tikam\" leh!! haha!!

                        How????
