SBGE classes do have Academic DSAs, but there are also academic DSAs who are in mainstream. Not that there's much of a difference though.
Is 101 the DSA-academic class for the mainstream classes? Didn't know that. I thought the DSA-Academic students were in the GEP classes. At least in my dd's year they were, for the Math DSA students anyway.a child:
This is the information from my year, and may not be accurate for next year. 101-108 are non-SBGE, 109-113 are SBGE. Pupils who were from GEP or had high t-scores (for my year that means 269 and above) are in SBGE classes. For non-SBGE - 101 is academic-DSA class. Then there are also classes for the sports DSAs, basically all the DSAs from each area is in the same class. There's also MEP/SAP class. And then for the SBGE classes, 113 is the MEP/SAP class. Other than arranging in this way, I don't know what else they take into consideration. -

On CCAO will we get to know what the core CCAs are and do we get to know what the trials are for each CCA or do we only know the prerequisites? When will trials be conducted? Are there trials for merit CCAs?
Sorry for my never ending questions...
any help is appreciated. Thanks!

All the CCA discussion is making us envious! What happens to girls who join in Yr 2, or in the middle of the year? Can they approach individual CCAs or will they be assigned to those with vacancies left? What is the chance of joining Guides or handbells in the middle of Yr 2?
I'm not sure about those in Yr 2, but I know that Yr 3 scholars and transfers follow the same procedure as Yr 1s so Yr 2s shouldn't be different. Anyway you'll join the Yr 1s for CCAO and trials, and I doubt you're disadvantaged. I know of a senior who joined basketball in Yr 3/4, so it is definitely possible to join either, but do take note of above advice that you should trial for as many CCAs as possible that you won't mind joining, if you can. Good luck!

There are trials for all CCAs. And for CCAO - basically you listen to the principal talk about how important CCA is first, the LEAPs points system, Leadership opportunities, service learning information, everything about extracurricular. Then it's the CCA fair. You go around to the booths, learning about the various CCAs, and you can also talk to the seniors about the CCAs. Some CCAs will have sign-up sheets but it is not compulsory to sign up then because there will be electronic submission of CCA trial schedule. On CCAO will we get to know what the core CCAs are and do we get to know what the trials are for each CCA or do we only know the prerequisites? After CCAO, when you decide what CCAs you want to trial for, there will be an online submission of trial schedule to be done. You're advised not to do more than 3 per day. The trials last a period of 1/2 week(s), and usually involve and interview and then skills assessment (e.g. for sports they'll ask you to play the game, for drama they'll ask you to act a skit, for Editorial Board you have to edit an article). Then you'll know the results (either confirmed or waitlist - a bit like DSA
- you put your 1st/2nd/3rd choices). If you don't get into anything you'll have a 'chat' with the CCA HOD and then go for supplementary trial for those CCAs that still have vacancies. Mostly they are taken up and those left are generally Uniform Groups - especially NCC - that people don't want, though few lucky ones like banana got into CCAs that are more interesting (to me). So do trial for as many as you won't mind joining as then you'll have more choices instead of having to do the stressful supplementary.

Hi, was told that the class lists are already pasted on the notice board. Is this true? Is there a way to check on-line? Thanks.

Somehow got into math advanced class without even sitting for the tests? And all those that are in are from 109/112/113! My whole class got in regardless if they took the tests. I hope theres one more list for Non-GEs, if not is so unfair. They took the test for nothing, in the end all gave away to GE classes!(where is 110 and 111??)
After analysing i think they put all those who got thru the math test in a class(meaning the super good ones), then all those who took test but failed in one, and the rest in random order in the next 2 classes.
But in any case I HATE MATH:(
@ a child, youβre in my math ad. class.
