My son is also moving from diff screens - iPad to xbox and iPhone. I really wonder how is he going cope with the speed his teachers are going to drill p6 at this rate.

Lol... Sound so familiar πŸ˜‰

My son had a fantastic holiday...actually I have kept up his Wii/Xbox controllers but he still has the ipad. He told me he wants to watch show until 3am. Really enjoying himself...never mind, never mind...when school reopens, he will definitely be drilled.
I have reminded him over the last few days of holiday that I will be putting all the \"screen\" in cold storage when school opens. I would think that he will feel the heat when pressure builds up in the class... Let's hope that our DS
will \"wake up\" their idea then;)

Happy new year to you!

To all parents who are facing PSLE stress in 2012, here wishing all a very blessed and successful 2012 as we countdown to 270 days. The tentative PSLE exam time table is out and the main papers start on 27 Sep 2012. May we be blessed with wisdom, health, stamina, patience, luck and everything we need to handle our kids’ first major exam!

Happy New Year everyone :rahrah:

Let's hope our dear sons will wake up to the reality when school reopens. That would be the best gift for 2012.

We also need lots of sanity as well to get thru this whole year of 2012 ahead ..after that we have experience dealing with it for our younger kids.

I was shocked when My DD had 62 for math in SA1 as her results for P4 is 90plus. Quickly get her a tutor for math. Finally she score full marks for CA2 and 97 for SA2. Later I found out from her that she did not understand the school teacher ways of teaching math properly too fast for her and she is those very quite type with no question asked during lesson. The teacher only explain to the student when they raise up they don't understand or else he will just skip questions.

As such I think 1-1 tutor benefit children who are shy to raise question. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚
Hi Five! I got 62 for math in SA1 P6 too. I used to get 99 for P2 and my mom was like \"WOW.\" when I got 62  but after that I got tutored back to 88 for CA2 πŸ˜“

Anyway, parents who have Dses and DDs taking PSLE in 2012, this might help:

English for PSLE 2011 was slightly easy.
Math for PSLE 2011 was difficult.
Science for PSLE 2011 was slightly difficult
Chinese for PSLE 2011 was easy.
Higher Chinese for PSLE 2011 was easy as well.

So here’s what I predict for PSLE 2012:
English for PSLE 2012 will be slightly difficult.
Math for PSLE 2012 will be easy.
Science for PSLE 2012 will be slightly easy.
Chinese for PSLE 2012 will be difficult.
Higher Chinese for PSLE 2012 will be difficult.

Anyway, yea. Sometimes I don't understand what my school teacher is saying (P3-P6 teacher, who is the same teacher). P1 and P2 teachers I could cope with them. That teacher who taught me for 3 years I just barely understand what she's saying and i learn the rest from my tutor πŸ˜“

ASLMUM:
Hi fellow comrades,

Any suggestions on how to improve Chinese? I think due to poor foundation, my DD is issues recognising the chinese characters and their meanings. Stress!
Hi. This may help:
For Comprehension in Chinese, first you have to read the passage, then read the questions.

Following that, you sort out that which one requires personal opinions and which ones don't.

Those that don't require personal opinions can be directly copied off the passage. Those who cannot, you have to let your DD comprehend themselves.

But this way is effective for me πŸ˜“

Hi everyone,

When school reopens tomorrow, the reality that my son is in P6 will hit me...cannot siam anymore :lightrod:
However, I was also told that this 9 months will pass very fast...I definitely believe every week will pass by EVEN faster than last year.
These past few days, we have gone to the nearby malls (very unlike me)...told hubby I feel I'm going to be 'imprisoned' from 2moro onwards for 10 months.
