. But in the end I skipped some of the Math Olympiad sessions, as the pace was so slow, the questions aren't very relevant/useful, and it wasn't well organized as a whole - the teacher was often late, the materials given weren't very good, etc. I browsed through the booklet and those questions which I don't know the method for solving I'd check with my friends who attended the Math Olympiad sessions - that cuts down the time spent from 1h to like 5-10 mins :roll: Then I joined my classmates for CES-sleeping (sometimes), CES-homework-chionging (most of the times), CES-slacking-and-chatting (all the time).

I stay at Jurong Extension So I've got to take a bus to Pioneer MRT, then MRT to Redhill MRT, then bus 132 from Redhill MRT to RGS. That takes about 1.5h - 2h. I thought about attending Rivervalley, which is only a bus journey away, but in my P6 class almost everybody was going to RGS/Nanyang and my best friends did too; besides RGS/Nanyang had good propaganda, etc. (and some other reasons) so I ended up here and I guess I don't regret it.
Besides I'm no stranger to long journeys to school. In primary school when I got into GEP, all the schools were remarkably far so I ended up in RGPS. I registered for the school bus, but I lived so far the driver who did rounds in Jurong West refused to pick me up (reasoning: you live in Jurong Extension, and it's not worth my time and oil money to pick up from an area where only you are living) :nailbite: . So I began the taking long journeys on the public transport and stuff, though for the days that ended late (which ended up being majority of the days especially in P5) I took a taxi home, because due to RGPS's unstrategic location which is far from any MRT, it'd take me 2+h to get home. So after 3 years of that I got used to it hence the distance factor wasn't that emphasized in my decision to attend RGS. (Besides who am I to complain, when Malaysian kids are taking 3-4h journeys daily to Singapore to attend our schools?

Many of us seniors (including me) will be going down to man the booths:P Sigh still need to go school haha not exactly complaining, I'd love to be back at school, but it takes like 1.5h-2h for me to get there, and the same amount of time to get home ><
My dd will be looking at:
Golf;
Badminton;
Netball;
Shooting;
Girl Guides;
Red Cross; and
Choir.

I'll be at the Tribune - a school magazine - booth, though I doubt anybody would see me as my shift is early and mainly for the setting up of the booth Anyway here are my tips if they aren't too late: 1) visit as many CCA booths as possible, just as you should visit and try out for as many CCAs as you like, as this greatly increases your choices and also effectively reduces your chances of not getting into any; don't be like me and leave the CCAO way early after looking at only a few booths and severely limiting my choices CCA, 2) talk to the seniors, because other than CCA visitations, this is where you get the greatest sense of CCA culture and experience and know whether you'd fit in, don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have; reading information is good also but the factual stuff can be obtained through other means and don't represent the CCA that much, 3) write your name down on the lists of the CCAs you want to trial for if such a list exists; especially for some smaller clubs and socs like Tribune they rely greatly on this mailing list for indicating interest for trials - if you don't fill in you'll have to go to the trouble of notifying a senior in the CCA of your interest.
Also, have fun and bask in the RGS culture! - CCAO really is the epitome of RGS culture, being busy, fun, warm and caring, a bonded society, etc. etc. etc. -

I know its none of my business but the mommy-in-me wants to tell you
Better wean off soon - ksp can be distracting.
Anyway one school load starts , guess you will neither have the time nor the inclination to come here often.
Do Drop by once in a while to advise , but overcome the urge to log in frequently just to check or post...
My DD is a KSP addict, so i must monitor the next few days to keep her off the forum :slapshead: -
