if you notice, not all schools post the \"% of quality passes\" on their school website, nor average T-score. some post, some don't (totally leave out), others give vague idea only (example: give only overall passes - so vague that as good as not posting anything).
usually the detailed info are found in P6 parents briefing slides (if they are not posted on their school website). however, some school only flash for a short while quickly during P6 parents briefing session, after that quietly remove those few important slides. (sssh). shouldn't behave like that this way ... whether the school's overall psle score good or yet to improve, all parents are eager to know.
Parents also have the right to know. After all, are parents not the customers in the school ? We parents place our child into your school for six years - from P1 right up all the way to P6. Six years is no mean feat. Six years for our child is a long period of time!
in the corporate world, shareholders annually have to report financial status standing to all customers - who place faith & trust in respective company by buying up the company shares. in the education world likewise, shouldn't school Principals do likewise for parents who are the customers, and who place faith & trust in respective school to educate our kids, for 6 long crucial, key important formative years ?
If psle score has yet to improve, then perhaps school can take positive action. Try to set up internal Task force psle management committee. Tackle the root cause what actually cause it to happen, then school to come together as committed teamwork effort to brainstorm: how best to improve results in the subsequent next batch ? :? (Yes, brainstorm) example: may learn from those schools that had won BPA (Best Practices award) or SDA (School Distinction award). find out how such schools manage to improve. likewise apply the same similar strategy back in their own school, see whether it help.
remember: the BEST is YET to be. it is not the end. I believe that the school's combined committed joint hardworking effort from Teachers and pupils will help towards making some improvment. All schools should boldy post their results on school website - example: salute the way Ang Mo Kio, Tao Nan did. :salute:
some school in the past had experienced the glory old days (example: 30 years ago). but in recent years, standard dropped. other school the other way round - in the past din do so well, but in recent years standard improve leap and bound! Thus to observe trend, ideally examine past 3 years or more, to get a gut feel.
