Ministerial Salary Review

I wasn't happy about this either. It was a brute force way to stimulate GDP growth. It butchered so many other social equilibrium.
I am very very sore with regards to the issue of \"foreign talents\" creating many needless to say long list of problems. -

So in your definition Obama would have been a monkey..I'm against the pay cut of ministers because I still believe that -
If you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys for ministers and it is necessary to pay huge amounts to our ministers to avoid corruption. (Is there any to date?)
Also I'm grooming myself and my ds to be the next... . My dream gone liao. If they will be a domino effect on my salary as the president and parliament speaker I will be doomed.
If you have been paid billions and millions, I guess 1.1 million might just make you feel like a monkey.
I am glad there's been a pay cut, though the bonus still sounds appalling to me.
And why they single out Speaker of Parliament for that drastic cut hah? I feel sore for him leh...ouch!
\"Also I'm grooming myself and my ds to be the next... . My dream gone liao. Are they gonna "debate" about this in the next Parliament session?
Would be interesting… Provided less group-think mentality. -

Someone should invite Obama over. He should be happier due to higher pay.

I also think bonus still high.
President also being singled out and 51% cut. Comparing TT & Nathan, TT's entry is untimely. -

Fully agree!

But I think it will take another generation to un-do the damage and find able future leaders to serve our nation and citizens. -

Need to start with getting RI to acknowledge that it breeds a sense of entitlement in our children.

I thought basic wage already one of the highest in the world ? it's not like the basic wage was low or even average........
I think I need to talk to MY boss about performance bonus yardstick soon
better don't.
Your boss may reduce your monthly fixed pay and shift the amount to variable performance bonus :scared: -

I considered bonus part of overall pay package?[/quote]
I thought the pay is computed based on top 1000 earners from 8 professions less 40% discount. It is the bonus that is tied to median income & lowest 20% group's real income growth.caroline3sg:

I like also that they are open to the suggestion of linking politicians' pay to median income and the lowest 20 per cent. This will better incentivise politicians to think of the common folk.
read some where in the papers, overall package for MR4 is based on 20 months. 13 months fixed pay + 1 month AVC + 3 month performance bonus + 3 months National bonus.
on a good year and good individual performance, can get max 26 months. -
