last year June is an exciting and kan cheong year for me to reg my boy for P1. I guess next year i wont feel that kinda of excitment...

Well, i am still thinking of ACS phase 2B (out of 2km) for next year reg.. šŸ˜ž
Hi nettie, if your elder boy is in ACS now, your younger boy would be phase 1 for siblings. You mention phase 2B for your younger boy for next year reg, so older boy is not in ACS and you are opting for them to be in different schools? How come? šŸ˜„

Hi, my son is also born in 2007. Have sent my application to NCPS but realised from onemap that my block falls just outside the 2km radius. Oh dear! Anyone knows if they go strictly by the radius cos my neighboring block just less than 10m away is inside the radius.

Another query if anyone knows where I can find the information on which primary school has student care centre?

        Most grateful..

Yes. Strictly followed the distance radius for fairness sake. Even 1m off is off.

just curious, if i have a kid born on 1st Jan, can i register at an earlier year of registration, if fail in balloting, then register again at the following year?

I think u need to declare to MOE if your child is a singaporean...
Bcoz my ex-coll declare to MOE for later entrance for his son as he is born in Dec 2004... So she register his son last year for 2012 intake...

My understanding for kids who are born 1st Jan.. yes.. to register earlier.. ie. 1st Jan 2007.. to register this year.. instead of next year..

                Pls refer to MOE guide..

                  Hi,

My boy is also a '07 piggy, going P1 in 2014.
I’d like to know wat are the odds to get in to Holy Innocence Primary or Maris Stella, under Phase 2B (catholic). Anybody can share?

Hi zann, it very much depends on the distance between your house and these two schools. After comparing the distance, you could check the schools' past year's balloting history and use that as a guide to gauge the odds.

Bear in mind that past records may not reflect 100% of what is going to happen in future so it is still important to minitor the take up rate closely when the time comes. Hope this helps. šŸ˜„

Its true as my ex coll defer his son through MOE. He is now P1 like our kids but he is born in Dec 2004... Maybe my ex coll feels that his son is a slow learner... 🤷

In my opinion, ICR, ICL, montessori phonics.. provides a more systematic way of learning phonics, word building/blending so as to aid them in their reading ability.
But then again, different kids learn differently.. most imptly they must enjoy the lessons & teacher so that they are willing to learn and thus absorb faster. :boogie:
